Caitlin looked at the floor

"No"

"No, why not?"

"Because it's going to kill him"

"And you don't think it'll hurt him when you disappear and he doesn't know why or anything?"

"What do I do?"

"Ok, I'm telling you this as Barry's dad, because I don't want to see my son hurt and the longer that you play with his feelings the more it will hurt....."

"I'm not playing with his feelings. I genuinely love him"

"Ok, I want you to go home and pack all your stuff and move back into your apartment for the last few days"

"You want me to vanish from his life? Not even a goodbye?"

"No. It's better in the long run. He'll be hurt but it'll be easier for him to get over you"

Caitlin ran out of the house and back to their shared apartment. She went upstairs and quickly packed. She decided that Barry deserved some sort of bye, so she decided to write him a letter

             Barry

I never thought I'd have to write this, but this is me saying goodbye. I've realised we don't work as a couple. I was just passing through your life. We weren't meant to fall in love with each other. But Barry thank you for everything. You showed me that not all men are like Ronnie and that I was just unlucky. That there are good men out there. Even though we didn't work, thank you for loving me Barry. You taught me what love is and how to love someone. I just hope you don't hate me. Bye Barry

                       Caitlin

Caitlin took her suitcase and ran out of the apartment in tears, back to her own apartment. She couldn't believe what Barry's dad had said to her. It was like he no longer cared about her, and didn't care about his son. Caitlin froze as she heard banging on her door. She tried to ignore it, knowing it was him

"Open up latte. I know you're in there"

Caitlin opened her door and let Barry in. She knew she would have to give the performance of a lifetime to make Barry believe it and send him away

"What do you want?"

"An explanation"

"I thought I was clear in my letter"

"So what, you just decided you don't love me anymore?"

"Read my letter"

"Why? I thought we were happy"

"I thought so too. But turns out I was only fooling myself"

"You don't mean that"

Caitlin sighed and rubbed her eyes. Barry was making this move difficult then she wanted it

"Look, I felt sorry for you"

"You what?"

"I felt sorry for you. Following me around. Never leaving me alone. It was pathetic Barry. So I finally gave in and gave you a try. But even then you wouldn't leave me alone. I mean, how pathetic can you get Barry? Plus your money came in handy"

"I thought you said you didn't care about my money"

"Well I did. You payed for everything. Brought me nice things."

"Well, if you just wanted my money, why didn't you say? I would have gave you everything. Why play this game of love with me and mess with my heart and feelings?" yelled Barry

"Because I felt sorry for you"

"What?"

Caitlin screamed, "Barry your not getting it. I don't love you, and I don't want your love"

Barry exited the apartment, slamming the door. Caitlin sank to the floor, in tears.

"I'm sorry Barry. I do love you. Please forgive me for what I said. I had to do it, because you would of never let me go otherwise"
