under shining rays of amber sun,

across the evergreen brush,

I imagine your lovely silhouette

dancing in meadows of saffron florets

I imagine the joie de vivre

contoured in your crescent-shaped smile

if I could ever touch your hand,

even for one moment,

my anguish would be worthwhile

I imagine your chesnut-hued tresses

ablaze with a golden glow

your beauty compares to no one,

just reminiscent of a Van Gogh

I imagine your cerulean eyes

twinkling in the moonlight

with a tinge of periwinkle,

truly enchanting and mystical

a stone's throw from the crimson sunset,

on the banks of the Lafayette,

your image glimmers on the surface

with such skill that leaves me wordless

the wild dreams that linger in my head:

to you, they all belong

but the closer I look at your reflection,

kept within the water mirror,

I realize I am who I have loved all along
