Happy reading! (Well, I'm not sure this is such a happy read..)

"You promised!" I screamed. It was a photo. Just a photo. But it was still him, "We wouldn't get separated! Ever again!" I doubled over and curled into a ball on the floor.

I stayed there for a long time, sobbing into the carpet. I half expected him to walk through the door and calm he down. But he didn't. And he never would again.

"Why?" I bellowed at the sky. It didn't respond. No one did. I felt empty. Incomplete. The apartment felt cold and unwelcoming.

I heard a knock on the door. I sniffed but I didn't respond. I heard some muffled voice from outside and the door unlocked.

If it was monsters, I didn't care. I hoped it was, because then I could see Percy again.

"Annabeth?" A voice whispered. I didn't respond. It wasn't Percy, so I didn't care.

"Annabeth, are you okay?" Another voice said. I shut my eyes tightly. I hoped that when I opened them, it could all have been a dream.

Jason

We didn't know what to do. She wouldn't answer any of our calls, and she wouldn't even respond when we spoke to her.

"Annabeth?" Piper said as we walked through the door to her apartment. Thalia had a spare key, luckily, or we would have had to break the door down. When we walked in, we found her curled up in a ball, sobbing. Behind her, on her living room wall were hundreds of pictures of Percy and her.

"Annabeth," I said, "Are you okay?" She didn't respond. She just cried. Leo sat on one of her sofas, which had been pushed to the side of the room (along with all of the furniture) to make room for Percy's shrine.

We all shared a look.

"Annabeth, Do you want anything?" Hazel asked softly. Annabeth cried more violently, her shoulders shaking.

I decided to get up and look around. Leo and Piper followed me. Her kitchen was a mess. Her fridge was empty, along with her cupboards,

"She hasn't been taking care of herself at all, has she?" I said. Leo shook his head. We carried on walking along the corridoor.

Her room looked like it hadn't been touched in ages. Clothes were strewn about the floor, and the bed was messy and unkempt. Leo heaved a heavy sigh next to me. I couldn't help but agree.

"We need to help her," Piper said. I nodded.

"How?" I asked. Piper grimaced.

"Is that it?" Hazel asked. I nodded.

"Yep,"

"How's she doing?" Leo asked as Piper emerged from Annabeth's bedroom,

"Well, she's asleep" Piper replied. So far, we'd gone shopping for her, cleaned her apartment, done her laundry and washing and were in the middle of making dinner.

"Is she going to be okay?" Frank asked. Piper shot him a sad smile,

"She'll be okay, she just needs some time,"

"Anyone would," Leo reasoned. Suddenly an ear-piercing scream came from Annabeth's bedroom.

"Percy!" She yelled. All of our heads snapped in the direction of the sound. I think that I gave myself whiplash.

"I'll go this time," Hazels voice broke. Piper shot her a grateful smile as Hazel brushed past her into Annabeth's room.

Hazel

It wasn't easy to watch. I knew that I couldn't wake her up, and that I just had to wait for her to do that on her own, but it was tempting.

Looking around  the room, I saw how many photos of Percy there actually were. They seemed to be going in order for oldest to latest. at the end was pictures of their wedding and their marriage certificate. I gulped back the lump in my throat.

Annabeth shot up in her bed. She was drenched in sweat and her eyes were wild. She began scrambling around, looking for something... or someone.

"Annabeth," I said softly. She wasn't even fazed by my voice, "Annabeth, this is Hazel,"

"He promised," She wept, "He promised and then he left,"

All I could do was watch as my friend cried over her dead husband. Because truthfully, he was a lot more than that. He was her soulmate. He was her other half. He was her alter-ego. But most of all, Percy Jackson was her best-friend. And her was gone.
