He grunted as his back was slammed onto the cold matted ground. He shot back up ready to fight again until a towel was thrown in his face.
"I like your rate of improvement." Ra's said proudly
"Thank you father." Barry said taking a bow of respect.
"Barry, you're my son, there is no need for the formalities and please, call me dad." He smiled
"Very we-" He said before noticing Ra's expression and clearing his throat, "Alright dad." He said with a small smile
"How are you adpating to school?" Ra's asked
"Slower than i thought." He sighed, "It should be easy but being around people my age is making me feel dumber." He added thinking about a certain blonde haired girl
"Worry not my son, we have a few agents within the school you're attending they can get rid of any problems you are facing as they are sworn to protect you." Ra's said
"I don't need protection, you can dismiss them." Barry said slightly annoyed
"I am unable, they are sworn by duty, they will only abandon you in death."
"In death it will be then." Barry said leaving the room.
Barry boarded the bus and instantly four people he recognised from various classes swarmed him.
"My liege." They all said in unison
"Liege? No, call me Barry at school if you don't i'll kill you." Barry said walking past them
"Sir-" One of them said but Barry cut them off
"At school we are childhood friends, got it?" He asked as the four of them exchanged looks and nodded, "Although, i don't know any of your names though." He said
"My name is Tessia." A girl with blue orbs for eyes and jet black hair said. She a hair shorter than Barry but he knew that she was a dangerous fighter.
"Hi, my name is Arthur." A boy with deep hazle eyes and messy aburn hair that resembled Barry's said with a smile
"I'm Thomas, glad to be at your service." He said bowing his head with his black hair falling down a bit as he re-adjusted his glasses a bit.
"Hi Barry, i'm Kathlyn." A girl with blonde hair and bright green eyes said with a wide smile. The look in her eyes made Barry rememer one of his dear friends for a split second.
"Forgive her my liege she has forgotten her manners." Tessia said slapping Kathlyn in the back of the head
"Tessia, remember what i said, call me my liege one more time and i'll kill you." Barry whispered in her ear sending a cold shiver down her spine as her eyes met with his sensing his killing aura. She now knows that he isn't the heir to the Demon's Head for nothing
"Now that we're all friends can anyone do my homework?" Kathlyn asked only to be met with Tessia stomping on her foot.
"Forgive us Barry......it might take us sometime to adjust with our new.....situation." Arthur said
"Don't worry, i know you all grew up thinking the Demon's Head was a king, but at school and around me, we're friends." He said patting Arthur's shoulder. Barry walked to the back of the bus and sat down as the bus began moving
"Is he really the heir?" Thomas asked as Tessia nodded
"I saw his eyes.....only a demon would have that type of look." She said remembering his cold glare.
Kathlyn sat next to Barry while Thomas sat next to her leaving Tessia and Arthur to the seat infront of them.
"So Barry....how's school life so far?" Kathlyn asked
"If someone asks me that one more time, i'm going to kill them." Barry sighed rubbing his temples
Barry's sour mood couldn't get any worse could it? That was until the bus stopped infront of a familiar house and a blonde teen and a girl with dark hair sitting above her shoulders entered the bus.
"Alex, there are no seats." Kara pouted
"Stand up then." Alex sighed rubbing her head. It was always too early in the morning to listen to Kara's whining.
"But my legs hurt." She pouted further
"Then sit at the back next to them." She pointed out as Kara nodded
"Is this spot taken?" She asked as Thomas shook his head
"All yours." He smiled politely
"Barry have you done the calculus homework?" Kathlyn asked. Barry gave her his workbook as she smiled and hugged it, "Thank you so much." She smiled happily
"When did you have time to do your homework?" Thomas asked
"I have a lot of free time." Barry said not breaking his eye contact from the window and passing bushes.
"Barry!?" Kara yelled looking at him as he finally looked away from the window and their eyes met
"Stop yelling......you're annoying." Barry said as she huffed and sat back down.
"Hi Kara, i'm Kathlyn." She said with a polite smile. Kara had her arms crossed and was staring out of the window, which resembled Barry's posture.
Kathlyn pouted slightly seeing as how Kara ignored her.
As the left the bus Kara decided enough was enough and was going to give Barry a piece of her mind. When her eyes landed on him he was already walking into the building with four other people beside him.
"Kara hurry up." Caitlin said pulling on her arm as she snapped out of her stare.
All throughout their classes together she got progessively more annoyed seeing Barry putting no effort into his school work, she didn't konw why it bothered her so much...it just did. Seeing someone so lazy and unmotivated.
Mrs Collins was walking around the class giving people their tests back from last week. Kara smiled to herself knowing she got the highest score until she asked.
"Who got the top score?" Kara asked expecting her name
"Actually, Mr Allen here recieved the top mark with a score of 98%." Mrs Collin said as Kara stood their in defeat. She looked down at her paper and saw a 97%, "H-He cheated or something Miss." She exclaimed
"I assure you Ms Danvers he didn't cheat, he wasn't here on the day of the test remember? So he did the test under my supervision later and i was there the whole time. He didn't cheat." Mrs Collins explained as Kara sat back down in her chair in defeat.
As they were leaving the class Kara grabbed Barry's arm and pulled him outside near the basketball courts where no one hangs around.
"How did you get higher than me while not paying attention in class?" She demanded to know
"Just accpet that i'm smarter than you and move on." Barry answered
"No, you don't do anything in class you just sleep and be lazy, how can i accept that?" She said as Barry turned his back on her and walked away, "Your parents would be disappointed in your efforts." She said as he stopped in his tracks
"Take that back Kara....." He said turning to face her now with his murderous glare shooting knives through her chest.
"Don't pretend for a second that you know anything about me." He said taking a step closer, "You were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. You have no clue about my life, have you ever had to fight for a meal? Or had your life flash before your eyes?" He asked now getting right in front of her. Kara swallowed her saliva and backed away in pure instinct as sweat ran down her forehead
"That's what i thought." He said before turned back around and leaving.
Kara fell to the ground after her knees gave out in fear. Barry's demonic-like aura was something not even military trained soldiers can take lightly and she just got the full front of it.
The person she just spoke with wasn't a human.....
