Back At Home

Malia's Pov

I just finished putting Emily to bed. She ate a little bit of food and went straight to sleep.

I smiled at her and kissed her cheek before leaving her room and headed downstairs.

Missy and Dale were already sleeping, me and Addison were in the living room.

Addison was watching movies while I just needed some rest. After everything that happened today I need my rest.

I sat next to Addison on the couch and rested my head on her shoulder.

"Emily is sleeping like the peaceful baby she is" I said with a smile. Addison smiled back at me and nodded.

"That's good, how you holding up?" Addison asked, "for the most part I'm alright" I said, lifting my head up from her shoulder.

"You know, with being a mom and everything, how is it?" Addison asked.

"It is a little hard, considering I have to deal with school and my daughter, but with the support of your parents and my friends I'll be alright" I said with a smile.

"You know it's not that hard, Emily doesn't cry that much during that night. There are a few times where she does but other than that she's been doing well" Addison said.

"Yeah, she's growing up really fast, time really does fly, does it" I said in disbelief.

"Soon she'll grow up to be a big girl" Addison said with a smile, I smiled as well.

But that soon faded and I hung my head. "Hey, are you ok?" Addison asked.

"I'm not sure" I said, "wanna talk about it?" Addison asked.

I nodded and sighed as I ran my hand through my hair.

"It's just, I'm not sure what to do if Emily asks about her father" I said. "Oh Malia" Addison said.

"I mean, I don't want to tell her the truth because then she'll be heartbroken and that's the last thing I want from her. But I don't want to keep any secrets from her" I explained.

"So, it's either tell her the truth when she gets older or not tell her anything" Addison asked and I nodded.

"If she finds out the truth then she'll just be heartbroken like me and end up hating him just as much as I do. If she finds out the truth on her own and realized I've been lying to her she might want to leave just to find him, and that's the last thing I want" I explained.

I sighed in frustration and laid on the couch. I grabbed a nearby pillow and hugged it to my chest.

Addison smiled softly at me and rubbed my arm for comfort.

"I think it's best to tell her the truth once she's old enough. I don't think it's alright for you to keep secrets from her. She'll soon ask about him and it's better to tell the truth then lie to her, she'll end up hating you because you lied" Addison explained.

I sighed before nodding.

"You're right Addy" I said and she smiled.

"It's going to hurt telling her the truth, but soon she'll understand why her father isn't in her life and understand" Addison reassured me.

"Yeah, I know" I sighed.

"Then just tell her the truth, she'll understand and I'm sure she won't want to meet him either" Addison said.

"You're right, it's best I tell her the truth. I don't think I could live with her hating me for not telling her the truth" I said.

Addison smiled and nodded, making me smile as I sat up and hugged her and she hugged back while kissing my cheek.
