"i miss him," y/n sobbed into sunako's arms.

"i know you do," she whispered.

"why did the world have to be against us?" y/n cried even harder.

"i wish i knew, my love," sunako began to tear up at the sound of her best friend breaking within her arms. "i really wish i knew"

"i miss him," y/n sobbed even louder. "god i miss him so much."

"shhhh, it's going to be okay. i'm here," sunako tried to soothe her friend in the best way she could.

she couldn't help him.

no one could.

a part of him died with toya todoroki and nothing.

nothing in the world would ever get that part back.

he would just have to live with that until the day he died.

until the day they would reunite as one, souls bound together by something much greater than life itself.

and until then? y/n would have to deal with the dabi shaped hole in his heart.
