For Nova, growing up in the middle and the bottom of a dark lake was pretty normal. She grew up the middle child with two older sisters, a younger sister, and a younger brother.
All sirens are born with a variety of powers, but Nova only has one of them as the main part of the story, she only has the healing bit.
As she said in the first few chapters of the story, she had said that her family had been taken away, and she wasn't lying. That was one of the reasons that she wanted to go to the Tower with Mono and (Y/n).
She wanted to see if any parts of her family had been hiding around the town, after not finding anything, she started to loose a bit of hope.
With the problem with her eyes and her going ahead, The Tower got through the small amount of emotional defenses that she had left, taking a bit of control over her mind and body.
