16. Secrets Exposed

*Alessandro's POV*

After Anfanasy, Maxence, and I got dressed for the ball we all headed early to Alexandria Noor's mansion for a meeting where we would meet with my grandfather. 

Mira is going to meet us later because she tends to take longer to get ready. She truly is the master procrastinator. But I still love her, she's like a sister and she's important to me and Afanasy because she's Maxence's sister.

Since we were all so close she knew all about the business, the legal and not so legal. She didn't particularly like it though, so she chose to distance herself away from it all.

After an hour's ride to the Noors estate, we had finally arrived at the massive mansion the Noor family had called home for generations. 

As we looked in awe at the almost fairytale-like mansion, Maxence broke the almost eerily quiet silence in the car, "You know it doesn't matter how many times I come here it looks so incredibly grand every time." he said with his cheek pressed against the window, earning a chuckle from Afanasy and I.

Afanasy and I nodded our heads agreeing with him as we watched the mansion appear to become larger through the never-ending gardens that always seemed to be trimmed to perfection. 

We reached the grand entrance where the maids and butlers waited lined up like a scene in one of those Hallmark princess movies Mira made us watch. 

We walked in the large double doors where we were met with my grandfather talking to Alexandria Noor. 

As we approached we all politely said our greetings and had some small talk before she led us to a large meeting room. The room had a long table surrounded by many chairs with high ceilings and expensive art pieces adorning the walls.

I couldn't help but admire how she conducted the room with an aurora of power that demanded people's attention and respect. 

Even my grandpa, the Italian Mafia don couldn't help but have high regards for her. 

Though the Noor Empire had always appeared to keep legal and not really dabble with much of the underground world, it is a major producer of weapons which meant they supplied to mafias. With the Italian mafia, "Poisons", being the biggest buyer.  

Though the Noor empire had always been a considerably large business she had increased its size tremendously in the past 17 years. 

People say it's because she divorced her husband so she drowned herself in her work, but I think she lost more than her husband, possibly her child, maybe the kid passed away and they ended up getting divorced. They were never known to have kids so that's highly unlikely, but who knows.

She has always been a secretive person, no one knows if she is going to pass on the company to her heir if there is one, or possibly if she will sell it; again who really knows the secrets of Alexandria Noor. 

We continued the meeting talking about the incoming shipments and some new business my grandfather wanted to conduct with her. 

After a while, we had finally finished the meeting and we were now just having a light conversation before we all had to leave for the ball. 

 As Afanasy talked, my grandfather nodded his head in my direction. He was signaling that it was time for me to ask what we have all been thinking.

I looked at Ms. Noor and waited for the perfect time to interject "Well, Ms. Noor we wanted to ask for a favor."

She nodded and continued "Please, call me Alexandria, and what is it you need help with?"

"Well we have been following a lead for the girl, Moon, we're close but we need some footage from your hospital in Moscow. She was last seen there and it would be of great help to have this footage," I said to her.

"I'm sorry gentlemen, but you have already received your answer from my team. I will not be releasing any footage from my hospital, people have the right to privacy." She said while she straightened the papers in front of her.

She looked up at us with a stern gaze and continued on "And don't you think if Moon wanted to be found she would have come out of her hiding," She said with a hint of annoyance as she got up from her seat leaving us stunned.

She always kept composed, but for once she looked irritated and kind of nervous. I was about to say something but I got interrupted by a girl's voice calling out. "Hey, mom are you in your office, I was wondering if you want to hang out before the ball?" 

She went slightly pale and sighed while looking at the floor, but before she walked out the door she turned to us "Have a good night men, and please enjoy the ball. Regarding what you just heard I will be presenting my daughter to the public as my heir in 3 weeks... and as for now, this will stay between us. I expect you to keep this to yourself if you want to continue with any of our business negotiations," She said giving us a warning look that probably meant if we say a word to anyone she would drag us to the pits of hell.

My grandpa nodded his head and gave a simple answer. "Of course Alexandra we will all respect your wishes." She nodded and walked out without a glance back.

We all looked at each other baffled. 

"She has an heir... a daughter," Afanasy mumbled mostly to himself.

"That's just crazy dude..." Maxence said leaning back in his chair.

"How has this heir has been hidden all this time?" I questioned leaning back in my chair as well.

My grandpa sat straight leaning into the table making us follow his actions. "She's gonna be here tonight, at the ball, she said it." He said as we nodded for him to continue. "I want you to keep an eye out for her tonight, and if by any chance you come across her don't do anything to get on her bad side."

We all sat there in silence thinking about this new information, we didn't get the footage but we did find out there's an heiress to the Noor empire. Getting on her good side is too valuable to lose.

A/N: Hey guys I'm sorry I haven't been able to update in so long. I've traveled to see my sister because I haven't seen her in more than 2 years so I wanted to take some time away and spend time with her.
