NARRATION

Olivia sat across Mattia at their dining table. The house was clear of all soldiers. Trixie was out with Hendrix and Daisy. It was only the two of them.

"What happened to us?"

It was Olivia who had chosen to break the painful silence. Her voice cracking as she did so, fresh tears appeared in her eyes.

"The past year" she continued "I've just been so consumed by all this hurt and you don't even care"

Mattia stared at the glass of alcohol in front of him. Both hands in his lap as strands of his brown hair fell in front of his eyes.

"How can I not care about you?" he said, his voice low as he raised his head.

"You're the love of my life, Liv"

"Bullshit"

"No!" he shouted, slamming his fist down onto the table. Olivia didn't flinch, her eyes locked on his "It's not bullshit, you will always be the most important person in my life"

"Okay" Olivia stood up, walking towards the door. Mattia stood up, following her and harshly grabbing her wrist.

"Get the fuck off me, Mattia"

"Not till we fix this"

"Are you fucking kidding me!?" screamed Liv "why don't you understand that? I don't want anything to do with you anymore"

Her voice cracked again as she said the last sentence. She turned away from him, wiping her eyes and taking a deep breath. He felt his own eyes heating up but blinked the tears away.

"You don't mean that, Liv"

There was a silence as Liv looked down at her wrist, tracing a finger over it and taking a sharp intake of breath. He placed a hand on her shoulder, gently turning her around so they were facing each other.

"Please" tears slid down his cheeks "when you left for Florida with Trixie, I was lost. I completely lost myself, Liv. Don't do that to me again"

"How can you say that?" said Liv, narrowing her eyes "you did this to yourself"

She walked out the kitchen and out of her house, doing everything she could do to stop herself from turning back.

"Trixie, Trixie wake up"

Daisy poked a sleeping Trixie but she only stirred in her sleep, moving slightly. Much to Daisy's disappointment. Hendrix looked over to see his girlfriend passed out.

"Don't do that, D" he whispered, moving her hand away. Daisy looked over at her brother before getting out of bed and running out of his room.

"Finally" mumbled Hendrix, moving closer to Trixie. He wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him.

"I love you"

His soft whispers against the back of her neck caused her eyes to flicker open. She smiled to herself before closing them again before he could notice.

Olivia walked down the street until she was on a main road. She paused for a second, taking in her surroundings and inhaling sharply. She walked into a coffee shop, joining the back of the queue.

She looked up at the menu, confirming the hot chocolate in her mind as she walked up to the cashier.

"A medium hot chocolate, please" she said. He nodded, going to prepare the drink. She redid her hair anxiously, leaving it in a messy bun atop her head. He came back with the small brown cup on his hands and Olivia's hand delved into her pocket for her purse.

"Fuck"

She realised it was at her house. She'd left it in her bedroom after leaving in such a hurry. She blinked harshly, praying the tears wouldn't spill.

"I'm sorry I-"

"Put it on my tab"

Olivia looked up. Her eyes meeting his. His grey, cold eyes. He looked back down at her, but she was no longer maintaining eye contact. She couldn't help but admire his features.

Her eyes travelled along his chiselled jawline with a hint of stubble. His messy black hair which fell slightly above his shaped eyebrows.

"Thank you" she said quietly, taking the coffee cup and walking towards a table. She felt him following behind her, but for some reason, she didn't mind. They took a seat at a wooden oak table, nervous smiles from both of them. He cleared his throat, holding his hand out to her.
