I scanned all of the councils' faces to see their excitement mirroring each other

Speaking of , I was wondering what she wanted to talk about , I was so strangely frustrated that I didn't send her a message back
"Oh, I'm so sorry I forgot to mention , yeah I personally asked her about it , and she slapped me with a big No , knowing her , we can't force her into this" I simply replied recalling our conversation
"And that's the problem B" Melanie stood up bringing her laptop with her , showing me the screen
It's an email from the director of Arts and Entertainment club , asking for the complete list of the candidates within the day , the email was sent a couple of days ago
"And you just told me this because?" I looked back at her
I hate being pressured by time , that's the reason why I always make sure to get all the things that I need to do done before it's due,
"Coz I thought , she's your friend and you can convince her " she answered shutting her laptop down
"You're not making a valid sense here mel" I snapped
" I'm sorry but I can't change that now , and we need a replacement " her laptop in her chest while she waited for my response
"B, we don't have much of a choice, it's late , almost all of the students have ended their last class an hour ago " Danielle , from ops chimed in

"We'll great, this is the whole cocktail incident all over again" I leaned my hips on the table and crossed my hands on my chest reminding them how they forgot the refills from last year's party that the council organized as well, and as the President , who took all the blame?
- "This is supposed to be a teamwork guys , I asked you to strategize , make sure that you have some people in line in case our chosen candidates deny , I just can't cover up your asses all the time , why is everyone not listening!" I stressed out every word to emphasize my frustration
"I'm so sorry B" I heard Melanie murmured with her head down
"And how do you propose to change that? Anyone?" I looked back to the rest of the group
"Well , before we started the meeting , we kind of talked about it B, and we have decided" Adrienne from ops as well too stood up
I stood back and planted my feet on the edge of the platform " I'm listening "
"Again as what Danielle mentioned , we can't talk to the students anymore since it's past the class hours-"
"Obviously , and we will not be having this conversation if you had the decency to tell me if not days ago , atleast this morning!" I cut her sentence off
I closed my eyes and counted to 10 "I'm sorry, this is just stressing me out , go on"
"Uhm , we have decided to make a vote" I heard Adrienne continued "Like within the... council"
I opened my eyes and looked at her dead "Are you serious?"
"It can't be that bad, we only need one more and it's settled" she answered back
"And how would you do that?"
"We'll , just the basic, write on the piece of paper who we would want to appoint on the kissing booth, and well obviously , majority goes" she shrugged
I looked over to the rest of the group and they seem to be in agreement and I can't think of anything else either
"Okay let's get this done and over with" I took pieces of paper and gave everybody each
It looks like Adrienne was the one who thought of this whole voting scheme , I wrote her name down , she's not dating anybody as far as I know, and she's good looking, Pale -olive skin , brown wavy hair at 5'4 , I'm pretty sure , students will be lining up to get a kiss from her , I folded the paper contentedly , I gave the piece to Melanie who seems so prepared as she's holding a box to gather the votes in,
I went back to the table at front and picked up my phone , messages and missed calls from Yumi were received two hours ago , I set my phone in silence when we started the meeting , I unlocked the phone and scrolled to the messages
5:24 Meng 💜 : B , I said I need to talk to you
5:37 Meng 💜 : Where u at?
6:01 Meng 💜 : I'll wait for you in the parking lot

I smiled , but dropped right away , wondering if she went home with Coco after waiting for me , I decided to send her a message back , I'm hungry and her house is nearer to the campus , I can drop by and just send a message to my mom later that I'll have dinner at Yumi's , contented with my decision , I started typing when I received another message

At that , I literally dropped my phone , I swallowed hard before picking it up , I know how she's messing around , but I'm just not prepared all the time , I don't even know how to repond to that, I looked at the screen

I picked my bag up and started walking down the platform

"B , I already sent our email response to the director with the complete list now" Melanie said behind me
"Great , good job Mel!" I replied without looking back and went straight to the door
"It was you B" I heard Melanie continued when I was reaching out for the doorknob
"What?" I turned the doorknob in and looked over my shoulder to look at her
"The council has chosen you as our candidate for the kissing booth"
