Why do people do follow backs?

I know, I know.. To show repsect and thankfulness and crap, but still.

Personally, I would HATE to know that on of you amazing people is/are following me because I followed you.

It makes the follow... empty.

It no longer means anything if you simply give out follows.

I really wish I could "kick" followers, not only for this, but there are also some in-active accounts following me.

Short, but meh.
