Jet didn't need me today as I still wasn't trusted with anything more than a shovel and watering can, so instead of joining the others for lunch I walked around the outside of the house, smelling the flowers that were slowly blooming and humming softly to myself. As I neared the front walls, I heard a flurry of voices talking and peeked around the corner, seeing Alpha Lupus and his pack coming through the gate. My inner wolf howled for me to try and escape but thought better, knowing that if anyone saw me I would be reprimanded on the spot.

"What were we even after, Alpha? The pack didn't know anything." Honi asked, easily matching Alpha Lupus' strides as his face pictured one of annoyance

"I just needed to check something with Nevada's pack. I got the answers I wanted for now. Go and train for a while before dinner." He ordered and my eyes widened, getting a flashback to last night. I had told the Alpha of Salt Lake City that I was lying in my drunken stupor. That I wasn't even from the Nevada pack and he had gone to confirm my claims. I felt violently sick but took deep breaths, knowing I couldn't afford to throw up the little food I'd eaten at breakfast. The pack disappeared inside and I leaned my head back against the wall, closing my eyes and begging the Moon Goddess to help me.

"Rogue. What are you doing here?" A voice came from my right and my eyes shot open, standing straight and bowing my head, my inner wolf catching the scent of Delta Kurt as I submitted to him.

"I have no tasks so I was getting some fresh air, Delta." I mumbled, staring down at the flats on my feet that were severely scuffed from all the times I'd tripped over my own feet and Delta Kurt chuckled lowly

"Very well. The elves have just dropped some clothes off for you, at Alpha Lupus' request." He informed me and I nodded wordlessly, watching a small bug as it darted side to side on the ground.

"Thank you, Delta. Give the Alpha my gratitude." I spoke a little louder this time, my inner wolf giving me the strength in hopes that this encounter would be brief.

"You can tell him yourself as he's coming this way. Goodbye rogue." With that Delta Kurt turned back the way he came and my head shot up, glancing side to side as I tried to find the Alpha. When I didn't see him I stilled, feeling dizzy still as my hangover wasn't quite gone yet. Before I had the chance to steady myself, my inner wolf caught a familiar scent and I took off running into the house, darting through hallways until I collided with someone's back and I fell to the floor in a heap

"Damn Ace! I was just coming to find you, Raula needs help with serving dinner." I'd crashed into Jet, just fucking brilliant. I ignored his outstretched hand and shakily stood by myself, smoothing my waist apron and curtly nodding to the gardener before turning on my heel and walking into the kitchen where Raula was watching over a pot on the hob.

"What can I help with, Raula?" I asked, leaning against the kitchen island as the smell of food made me dizzy. She smiled over at me and offered me a seat and a glass of water

"I need you to beat this hangover. I can't have you serving dinner if you're still dizzy." She gently scolded and I nodded sheepishly, taking the tablets and chugging the water, relishing in the cold sensation that soothed my sore throat. Once the glass was empty I rested my head on the cool island surface, feeling the water travel down into my stomach as I hadn't eaten in hours.

"You'll be serving the pack this evening for dinner again as you did so well last time. This is good practice for you." Raula coaxed and I gave her a weak smile, feeling slightly better as I sat up and drank another glass of water. My inner wolf whined for food but I had to push it away; we don't get to eat. We destroyed our pack, this is the punishment. Raula had just finished plating up the first few servings and I took them in my hands, my inner wolf giving me the strength to hold them still as I walked into the dining room. Everyone went quiet as usual when I served food and I ignored it, starting at the bottom of the table. Alpha Lupus' eyes were trained on me harder than usual and I ducked my head, cursing internally when I realised my hair was in a braid so I couldn't hide behind the barrier. As I entered the kitchen I took my braid out, ruffling my scalp slightly as red hair fell past my shoulders. I hadn't had a haircut in quite a few months, preferring the longer look though Janie told me it looked childish. I took the rest of the plates out into the dining room and I could still feel Alpha Lupus' glare on the side of my face as I now hid behind the wall of hair. As I placed the plate in front of the Alpha, his eyes still never left my form
