55) You Catch Him Crying

I'm sorry?! How did I just realize that Darry's twenty, not twenty-two?

PONYBOY~ You came over to see him, not knowing that he and Darry had a huge fight before you showed up. The house was deadly silent, but when you cracked open the door to Ponyboy's bedroom, you saw him sitting at his desk with his head in his hands. Every couple seconds, his shoulders would rise and fall and he would sniffle. "Ponyboy? Are you okay?"

SODAPOP~ The first time you saw Sodapop cry, was before you we're together, when he was with Sandy. Pardon, when Sandy left him. You were the first to know, and you only found out because you walked into the DX one day and didn't see anyone behind the counter. When you looked behind it, Sodapop was sitting on the floor and had his arms crossed over his knees and his head resting on his arms. He immediately stood up and you pulled him into a big hug

DARRY~ It's no surprise that Darry gets pretty stressed out. The stress comes in waves, which can be really surprising. You caught him during one of these waves when you'd gone into his room to ask where the dish towels were. He had been sitting on the edge of his bed, leaning his elbows on his knees. After making sure he was okay and pressing a kiss to his temple, you herded the rest of the gang out of the house to give Darry some quiet

DALLY~ You and Dally's been walking around causing harmless trouble, when you came across a couple Soc's beating up Johnny and Ponyboy in broad daylight. Dally simply pulled out his heater, which scared them off, but later when the two of you were alone, he choked back a sob. After a couple seconds, he told you how much it scared him that people were hurting sweet people like Johnny and Pony

TWO-BIT~ Two-Bit has probably cried once in his life, so for him, it's more like you saw him tear up. You'd been walking home with him from the drive-in, when a Soc tried to bring you home with him (if you know what I mean). After lots of commotion, and yelling, the Soc left you alone, but not without a long cut tracing his face. As the two of you continued walking home, you saw hot, angry tears in Two-Bit's eyes

STEVE~ It had been 10 at night, when Steve knocked on your door. Since you'd been falling asleep, it took you a minute to answer, but when you did, you saw Steve on your steps smoking. His eyes were red and he had tear streaks all over his face. As soon as he saw you, Steve threw his arms around you and held you tight. Later, you found out that his dad had kicked him out for good after pushing him around for a while

JOHNNY~ The two of you fell asleep in the lot one night, your head resting on his shoulders and his on your head. In the middle of the night, you realized that Johnny wasn't next to you and when you sat up, you saw a small flame as his lit a cigarette. You called out to him, and when he answered you, it was evident that he'd been crying, but he came right over and cuddled into you again. "Wanna talk about it?" "Not right now, doll."
