*Scott's POV*

*last day at hospital*

I've been visiting Sam a lot, but I haven't told her that the rest of the band is here. She thinks that they're at home while we're on a break from tour, so today we decided to surprise her.

"Ready guys?" I say and knock on her door.

"It's open!" She yells and I walk in.

"Scott! I was getting lonely. Chemo really takes it out of me." She says and hugs me.

"I was getting lonely too. Actually, there are some people here to see you." I say and open the door.

We walk in and she screams. "Oh my god!"

Everyone laughs and I see Mitch genuinely smile.

I love that smile.

I wish he was mine.

"Scott! You told me they weren't here!" She says and I smile.

"I lied. They've been here all along." I say and she reaches to hug me.

"You're literally the nicest person I've ever met." She says and wipes a tear.

"Same goes to you." I say and wave everyone over.

We all sit down and the others introduce theirselves.

I also met her mom for the first time, and she was really nice.

Sam really liked Mitch, so we sang a song with Mitch as the lead.

"What song do you wanna hear?" I ask.

"Uhm...I really like On My Way Home." She says and Mitch smiles.

That's my favorite, too.

"He says that's his favorite, too." I say and Sam smiles.

"Omg twins."

I laugh at how tumblr she is.

"Okay, guys. Ready? 1, 2, 3."

Kevin starts the beatbox and Sam immediately starts smiling.

"All of my life been running,

Payin ' the price for nothin'.

How do the young survive?"

I think about how this song relates to her so well. About how she has to go through all this just to love her life.

"We're never satisfied.

Really wish I could listen.

When the lights go down in the middle of the night,

Where will I run to?"

She runs to us.

We make an impact on someone's life.

"When the lights go down,

In the middle of the night,

Where will I hide?"

We sing the chorus and it starts getting to me.

I hold it back until the end of the song. Sam is nearly in tears and starts clapping.

I walk over and hug her. She starts crying and we both cry together. Mitch comes over and hugs us, and it soon becomes a Pentatonix sandwich.

I sit beside her. "Are you still freaking out inside?"

She smiles. "Yeah. A lot, actually. I can't believe that you guys are even here!"

We all laugh and talk some more. The others leave after a while and Mitch and I stay a little longer.

"I wanna get out of here," She says and groans. "This chemo is killing me. I mean, not literally. It's what's keeping me alive, actually."

I smile. She's so positive even in the worst of times.

"You'll get out of here. You're a fighter. When you do, you're gonna be front row at a concert." I say and her eyes widen.

"Really?"

"Of course! We can have a party backstage, too." I say and she smiles.

"You really are the nicest person I've met."

That warms my heart. To know that I've made someone happy.

"Same with you. This old hag is mean." I say, pointing to Mitch.

Mitch rolls his eyes.

I check my watch. "We've gotta go back to the room. A nurse is coming at 6 to make sure that you're okay." I tell Mitch and he nods.

"I'll come see you later." I say and give her a hug.

"Bye!" She says and we go back to Mitch's room.

Mitch gets a check up, and we get some good news: Mitch can leave tomorrow!

We both were extremely happy to know that he can leave early, but I keep thinking about Sam.

I don't wanna leave her. I'm gonna have to tell her tomorrow morning.

But on the bright side, Mitch gets to leave and we can continue tour!

I call the others and we celebrate, thankful that Mitch can finally be released.

There's just one thing.

How do I tell Sam?
