Making friends?

We have shared sleeping bunkers, boys and girls together, no privacy. I don't have a problem with it, my dignity is already gone. We walked to the showers no privacy there either. The group started getting uneasy and started to whisper among them selfs.

"You should feel right at home, Candor. Everything out in the open," Four said as he walked past us, bumping into her shoulder. I chuckled. It was a good comeback for her behavior earlier. "Get changed," he said before he disappeared.

I picked out some clothes. I chose a black tank top, a black jacket, and some boots. I kept my pair of jeans on as they were black. I stripped out of my Grey t-shirt. I forgot about the bruises on my ribs and abdomen.

"Somebody got into a fight," an Erudite boy said, amused by his own comment. All eyes turned to me. I had no idea how bad it looked but, I could only imagine the worst. Abnegation is all about not looking in the mirror. It would change the way of how you see yourself or something like that. I sighed, ignoring his statement. I put the tank top on, putting the vest over it, zipping it up. Turning around to see the boy now standing in front of me, "I'm William," He says with a stupid smirk on his face. I wanted to rip his head off his torso. He clearly enjoyed bullying people. "And I don't care," I said calmly, not breaking eye contact with him.

"Listen here, you Stiff, don't talk shit to me, or you will regret it," He said, taking a step closer to me, our faces now almost touching each other. I hate people who think they are more than others. So I rolled my eyes at him, not wanting to waste my energy. I walked past, deliberately bumping into his shoulder. "Hey!" He yells out to me. I gave him a sarcastic smile over my shoulder.

As I make my way to the dining hall, I throw my old clothes in a pit of fire, burning them. It felt nice like a weight has lifted off my shoulders. The dining hall was buzzing with life and energy. I grabbed some water and made my way to an empty spot. I seated myself next to Four, he looked up at me but didn't say anything. The Candor girl I helped getting on the train was sitting across from me.

"Hi, I'm Mia. Thanks for helping me earlier. I would be factionless now if it wasn't for you," She says to me. "River," I say back, smiling at her. She starts rambling things about her old life, about the train and jumping. I didn't listen to what she said, but she was good company, I guess.

"Hello again Stiff," It was William. He sat himself down next to Mia. "I don't like the way you speak to me," he added. Four looked up at William, with an eyebrow raised. "I don't see how that would be my problem," I said emotionless, ignoring his presence as I took a sip of water. "You think you are everything, don't you?!" He said, agitated. "Arent you, supposed to be the one thinking," I say calmly, now making eye contact with him. I hear people snickering, Four being one of them. It was a good comeback as he was an Erudite.

"Ooh, man, she got you good," William, his friend, says while patting him on the back laughing. "Shut up, Cole!" William Hisses back, smacking his cup on the table before walking away. "As you heard, I'm Cole. Nice to meet you," Cole said, extending his hand out for me to shake. "River," I say back, shaking his hand firmly. "Wel,l see you later," He said while running after William.

"That was A-AMAZING!" Mia said, over-enthusiastic. "You totally shut him up," A big smile was on her face. "I just don't like people who think they can do everything they want, to anybody they want," I said back while shrugging my shoulders. I took another sip of my water. Mia was talking to a boy that was now seated next to her. His body language told me he was an ex-Amity.

"Arent you, going to eat?" A friendly voice said. I looked up to where the sound came from. Four. I had totally forgotten he was sitting next to me and, he had probably heard everything. "Not hungry," I answered as I was playing with my cup. He looked at me confused before shrugging it off.

"River, meet Micah. Micah, meet River," Mia said as she pointed to us when calling out our names. I nodded and gave him a friendly smile. He gave me a smile in return. "River! Tell us something about yourself," Mia said, clearly wanting to know more about me. I looked at her before asking, "Well, what would you like to know?" She was taken back from my question. "Family, hobby's?" Micah stepped in. "Yea, I would rather not," I answered bluntly. Taking another sip from my water, as I stood up. "See you tomorrow," I said while walking away. "Bye," I heard Mia say, confused.

I grabbed my sketchbook and pencil, I went to a quiet place, the Chasm. I let myself slide down a rock. The ground was cold but not uncomfortable. I started sketching. Before I knew what, I wanted to draw. My mother her face was already on the paper. I lost my parents when I was 5 years old, but I never seem to forget their memories. My mother was kind and beautiful. She had these kind eyes, that could mesmerize anybody.

"You're not thinking about jumping, are you?" A deep voice said out of nowhere

"You're not thinking about jumping, are you?" A deep voice said out of nowhere. It scared the shit out of me. I looked up to see Eric. "No, Just relaxing," I answered him. Putting my pencil back on the paper, ignoring his presence. He snatched the book out of my hand and looked at it. "Impressive. Who is she?" He asked while giving the book back. I stood up. "I don't know," I answered him, looking to the drawing then back at him. Nobody can know that I'm Amity born. It's a lie I need to live with. I'm River Woodburt from Abnegation, not Aiyana Rivière from Amity. His face was made of steel. Not breaking eye contact, his eyes could burn holes in my skull. He didn't believe my answer, which would be true but, he didn't have to know shit.

"Goodnight, Eric," I said to him, giving him a sweet smile before walking back to our sleeping bunkers. I took off my boots, put on some shorts, and took off my tank top. I went to sleep.
