The flickering, sporadic sound of the alarm clock intercepted thunderously to Clary's ears, due to the fact that it was right next to her bed. Clary tossed and turned in the sheets, not sure if it was to seek a source of comfort or just to stretch. The dim light of day barely glimpsed beyond the curtains of her bedroom.

She clumsily reached out one of her hands toward the alarm clock just to turn off that annoying sound that was beginning to irritate her, as it did every morning—She stood for a few moments staring at the ceiling, her eyes half-dazzled, the dark circles under her eyes heavy.

Only for a moment she did allow herself to navigate in the mistery of how important it was to receive that chemistry test.

In the other, Clary sighed wearily as she tried to push away the tempting thought of staying in bed and getting a few more hours of sleep.

After dinner last night, she stayed up until two in the morning organizing and unpacking the boxes containing her belongings. Clary deduced that the others were doing the same, as every now and then she could hear the faint, light sound of boxes falling and shelves moving—And an occasional solitary chuckle.

Her desk and notebooks seemed to be waiting for her as if with satisfied countenances. Clary laughed at the thought and told herself that sleep was already taking over her vision. Clary rubbed her eyes as if to ground herself again, as normally, after a day's rest, her eyes lost their routine and took about half an hour to adjust to the light.

She made her way to the bathroom in her room with her soul about ten feet away from her. She had to wash her face with ice water as quickly as possible so that her eyes would not close unconsciously—Indolence dominated every one of her senses at this time of the morning and the chemistry exam that awaited her did not provide her with an active mood at the moment.

As Clary splashed the cold water on her face. That was one problem, her un-halcyon mind was often suddenly conveniently jumping off cliffs just for the pleasure of finding out and delving deeper into the subject, yet she still couldn't help but think about the night before, or what happened before she went to sleep. Apparently her parents were too busy to answer the phone, as she tried to call them about four times in a row but failed miserably each time.
