"please don't leave me tonight" I begged when I saw you going for your coat. "Not tonight."
Because tonight is the night the moon is shining bright. The brightest I've seen her in a while. Because tonight everything was so peaceful and quiet. Like the storm calmed down again.
Because tonight I remembered why I need to hold you close to me, to keep me from going under. To keep me moving forward. Because tonight the voices in my head were finally quiet and I liked the silence for once.
Because tonight the stars aligned and the rain let my favorite flowers grow again.
"Not tonight." you reassured but we both knew the minute I'd wake up you'd be long gone.
