Chapter 21

Warmth and softness surrounded Morgan, making her feel like she was resting on a cloud. She felt so comfortable and relaxed in this moment, and she didn't want to move or open her eyes as she began to fall back into the abyss of sleep once again.

Memories of last night came back to her after a moment, however. Thoughts of Tish and Leon, of Leon's betrayal, and of Stephanie's arrival soon after. The tears in Stephanie's eyes and the sadness in her voice had made Morgan's heart ache for her friend...

But then she remembered what happened afterward. Her conversation with Marcus in their hotel room, the look in his eyes, the feel of his lips against her. The exhilaration of being held in his arms as he carried her to bed...

Morgan finally blinked open her eyes to soft morning light permeating their hotel room. She found herself lying in bed on her side facing Marcus, who was still fast asleep. Both of them were naked under the covers, and they had fallen asleep spooning, with their noses and foreheads practically touching. Morgan was able to see every eyelash on Marcus's closed eyes, and every spot of stubble along his handsome jawline.

God, he's gorgeous.

Morgan smiled to herself, admiring the man lying beside her. She knew deep in her heart she didn't regret what happened between them last night, and the pleasurable ache between her legs reminded her of the amazing feelings he had produced in her. She shivered at the memory of his lips skimming along her heated skin, his large hands gripping her naked thighs as she threw her head back in sensual pleasure...

Marcus let out a small groan in his sleep as he shifted slightly, and his eyes fluttered open to meet Morgan's gaze. She felt her breath hitch in her chest as he blinked and stared at her, registering where they were.

Please don't regret it, she couldn't help but think fervently.

"Hey," he whispered, his sleepy voice raspy and quiet. Morgan smiled.

"Hey," she whispered back. Marcus continued to stare at her, and Morgan couldn't help but notice he didn't make an effort to move away from her as their faces were still only a few centimeters apart.

"You look beautiful," he breathed, the tip of his nose brushing up against hers, and Morgan felt her heart beat faster. Marcus's hand reached forward and skimmed along the side of her naked waist, and she shivered at his touch.

"Does sex hair suit me?" she asked with a small grin, and Marcus chuckled.

"Absolutely."

Their lips were now a hairsbreadth apart, and Morgan's eyes fluttered closed, silently beseeching him to kiss her. Marcus seemed to read her mind as his lips suddenly crashed into hers and they began kissing fiercely. Their tongues tangled in a sensual dance as Marcus's arms slid around her, rolling them over so he was hovering above her. Morgan's hands reached up as she tangled her fingers in his hair, tugging fiercely as their mouths claimed each other.

Morgan's heart pounded a frenzied rhythm against her ribcage, excitement and anticipation zinging through her body. She moaned as Marcus began nipping up her jawline toward her earlobe before skimming his lips down the slope of her neck.

"Your skin is so soft," he breathed against her. "So perfect..."

She gasped at the sensations he was producing, and she blinked open her eyes. After a moment, however, she registered the sunlight filtering in through the bedroom window, realizing it was probably later in the morning than she initially thought.

"Oh crap. What time is it?" she suddenly asked, her libido waning as reality crashed around her. Marcus pulled away, searching around for the bedside clock.
