!TW! Blood, death
•-----------------------------------------------------------•
Sitting on a beach. Again. His eyes fluttered off into distance as the sun was quickly setting. Sea was changing it's colours, the navy and light blue slowly became red and orange as the flaming sun got lower and lower, falling behind the horizon, the dark sea reflecting the colourful sky's colours. He closed his eyes, his eyelids heavy.
Not soon after, he quickly opened them once he heard a noise. Not again.
This isn't real.
This isn't happening.
This couldn't be happening.
Turning around, there was nothing but a dark, spruce-like wood forest. The same forest behind him was dark, the sky was already turning pitch black. There was no light except for the moon, which was very weak and barely lit up anything thought the thick trees, only a little piece of dirt path right at the forest's enterance differed from all the darkness and dark green grass in the faint moonlight.
Another crunch.
Another sound.
It was getting close.
He stood up quickly, his feet still in sand as he turned towards the forest, facing it as fear filled his eyes.
Another sound.
Breathing heavily and shaking already, he ran. He sprinted into the forest, not looking back as the sound of something cutting the air went right past his ear.
He kept running, his bare feet loudly stepping on the leaves and aching from all the small stones and dirt below them. But, pain was something he didn't care about at the moment, mostly because something seemingly always kept missing his head by a couple of centimetres/inches. He kept on running. He knew he couldn't run forever. Sooner or later he'd have to stop. He'd have to face whatever he ran away from. The terrifying thought was at the back of his head always, repeating it as he tried to get his courage to face it. Hiding behind a tree, he stopped for a second, breathing heavily, his legs numb. He can't stop, he must run, he can't let it get him-
"You know you can't run forever.. I know exactly where you are..", it read his mind.
The voice came from one side, but echoed around making it feel like it was nowhere and everywhere at the same time.
That damn, haunting and threating voice.
He feared it.
Pushing himself quickly, he started running. He didn't have much breath, his legs felt just slightly better then before, allowing him to run just a little more. He ran again, passing underneath a spacious opening in-between the thick spruce trees, which let out a mysteriously magnificent light through itself, making the running easier for just a second, the dim lighting of the full moon passing through it. The sound of whatever was chasing him echoed. Threats, creepy laughs in such a teasing manner.. It all made him anxious. He never knew where that thing was. It seemed to be all around him. This has to be a dream. He just has to wake up. Just to wake up. But he couldn't.
A loud crunch was heard behind him, his head instinctively turning around, getting a quick glance at the being. A siluette, it had something shiny in it's hand which shone under the weak moonlight. The creature dissapeared in a flash, passing and pushing him, making him lose his balance and fall over, his face hitting the pine-covered floor hard. He had to get up, but when his arms tried to push him on his feet, he couldn't. He was stuck on the ground but he couldn't give up now.
Not yet.
"Too late."
His hair rose as the goosebumps kicked in. He gulped loudly when he felt a cold blade press against the back of his neck.It was scary.
Was he about to die? He can't. He mustn't die, he has so much to live for. He can't just yet-
All he had to do is wake up.
First came pain and misery.
Then came the numbness.
Then came peace.
Then came the good feeling of relief. The blessing of death. He didn't have to run anymore.
