"Mom! Mom!"

"Yes sweetie?"

"Look how sunny it is! Can we please play outside?"

"Aww honey, why don't you play with daddy? Mommy is busy right now, I'm taking quite a few business phonecalls these days.."
"Oh..Okay..!", Sapnap said, disappointed. Though his mom can't play, his dad can, right?

Smiling at that thought, he ran quickly through the house, making his way into his father's office, looking at his hopefully as his dad worked and typed something on his PC.

"Dad? Can we play outside, please?"

"I'm fuckin- Oh, hey Nick! Dad's busy as of now, why don't you ask mom to play?"

"I asked her, she's busy as well.."

Looking back at the PC, his dad just shrugged it off.

"We will play another day then, alright?", he said, refocusing on his work.

"Alright.."

And with that, Nick dragged himself out of his dad's office, sighing in disappointment. His parents have been saying this for the past few months, and summer's almost over. Slowly, he walked back upstairs and threw hismself on the bed in his room, grabbing a teddy bear his grandma bought him and hugging it tightly.

"Why did you leave granny..", he sniffed, tears prickling his eyes as they threatened to spill and fall. But his parents said that crying and weeping is for cowards, and he wasn't a coward..

Was he?

Though he tried his best, exhaustion got him, emotions overwhelming his well-being as he finally broke down, sobbing softly into the teddy bear, clutching it closely to his body.

"Nick?", he heard his mother call out for him in the distance.

'No.. Quick, think!', he thought, wiping the tears and pushing the stuffed animal slightly away, closing his eyes tightly. He faked being asleep for the millionth time already, and every time his parents would fall for that same trick, just as his mom checked up on him and immediately shut the door back after paying almost no attention to the boy. Seeing that his son is 'asleep' again.

[Nick is 14ish]

Awoken by a ray of sunlight shining through the large window in his room, Nick groaned. Was it morning already?

Seems like it.

Annoyed at the suns's existence, he slowly stood up and left the bed, ready to meet his parents for one more day. Sighing tiredly, he grabbed the same set of clothes from the pile on the chair. He should really tidy his room and that pile now, his mom already yelled at his to do that for like.. 4 times over the week?

Still tired, he slowly and quietly made his way downstairs to the kitchen, but to his surprise, no parents today.

'They are probably in the shop or somewhere..', he thought. He kept thinking about where his parent could be, he wanted to avoid them as much as he could.

Outside, in the garden? Nope, too quiet.

In the park or a café for a date? Nope, not those type of people.

Work? They shouldn't be at work at this hour.

"Ah, fuck-", he growled quietly, snapped back into reality by his stomach howling, hungry. He just then remembered that he didn't eat for like.. What? 15 hours? Quite possibly, even more. He wanted to avoid confronting his parents as much as he could, and that meant shutting himself in his room and not leaving.
