Chapter 6

3rd Person POV

Nandini was sobbing in the washroom when she heard a knock on the door.

*Knock! Knock!*

"Nandini?"

Composing herself, Nandini wiped her tears away and turned the tap off before opening the door to see Nyonika standing there.

"Nandini? Are you okay? Tu aise upar kyun chali aayi?" Nyonika asked. Nandini sighed in relief when she realized Nyonika didnt hear anything.

"Woh Mom...kuch nahi bas tabiyat thik nahi lag rahi...thoda sir dard ho raha tha, isi liye." Nandini lied.

"Sir dard? Dekha? Main kehti hoon na, tu bohot zyada kaam karti hai...aur khud ka khayal bilkul nahi rakhti." Nyonika scolded her in concern, "Ek minute..."

She turned and walked to the side table in Manik & Nandini's room, "Tu dawai yahan rakhti hai na?"

Nandini nodded. Nyonik opened the drawer and took out some painkillers for her head ache. "Yeh le...ye kha le aur soh ja."

"Nahi Mom." Nandini said as Nyonika was about to leave, "Main bhi aapke saath niche aati hoon. Bas do minute mein."

"Arre kyun? Koi zaroorat nahi hai, teri tabiyat kharab hai toh aaram kar yahan."

"Niche toh jaana hi parega mujhe...kab tak avoid karungi main?" Nandini mumbled.

"Kya?" Nyonika asked as she didnt clearly hear.

"Mom...I mean acha thodi na lagta hai? Ghar mein mehman aaye hai aur Laksh ki future in-laws bhi toh...mujhse bhi aapke saath niche aana chahiye."

"Par Nandu.."

"Main thik hoon Mom...sachi, aap jayiye..main bas abhi aayi."

"Thik hai...ab tu keh rahi toh aaja. Lekin agar zyada tabiyat kharab lage toh fauran tu aaram karne jayegi....main bhi dekhti hoon, meri beti ko kaun kya kehta hai. Hmm?"

Nandini smiled hugged Nyonika, "I love you Mom."

Nyonika was surprised at the sudden gesture but she still hugged Nandini back. "I love you too bacha."

"Sab aapka intezaar kar rahe honge Mom...aap jayiye....main aati hoon."

"Okay." Nandini watched as Nyonika left the room before she went back into the washroom to freshen up.

"Chal Nandini...you can do this. Tu Khanna parivaar ki beti nahi...Malhotra parivaar ki bahu hai." Nandini looked into the mirror and said in a determined voice. "Choti ki koi galati nahi thi...tere past ki aasar uske aur Laksh ki rishte mein nahi aana chahiye. You just have to pretend like....pehli baar mil rahe hai. Asan hai na...vaise bhi kaunsa humare biche mein koi rishta reh gaya hai.....Yeah, I can do this...Laksh ke liye....Choti ke liye...I can do this."

Meanwhile...

As Nyonika came back downstairs, everyone looked at her. Most of the guests had left so it was just the Malhotras, the Khanna's and Fab 5.

"Mom...Nandini ko kya hua?" Manik asked, getting up from the couch.

"Thik hai...bas thodi tabiyat kharab lag rahi thi isi liye upar gayi." Nyonika replied. The Khanna's however, knew that this was not true...Nandini left because she saw them.

"Tabiyat kharab? Kya hua usse?" Manik asked.

"Main doctor ko bulata hoon abhi." Raj got his phone out.

"Raj...Manik..shant. Nandini khud keh rahi ke woh thik hai aur main dawai de ke aayi hoon so chinta mat karo. Thodi der main aati hogi woh."

"Usko aaram karna chahiye na?" Raj said.
