there is some swearing in this chapter

It's been 2 years since I last saw Jimin. I've just graduated high school and I still have no idea what I want to do with my life.
People always think you'll have a plan after high school. Even after being asked "what do you want to be when you grow up?" countless times, I don't have an answer.
My parents got divorced a couple months later. I already knew it was going to happen, so I wasn't upset when they told me.
My thoughts were interrupted as my father opened my door (without permission might I add).
"Y/N this is just ridiculous. Are you going to college or continue to sit around in this room all day every day?" He looks around my room in disgust.
I shrugged my shoulders and played with the strings on my sweatshirt.
"If you don't make up your mind, you're out of here. You can go live with your mom."
"I don't like her boyfriend. That's why I left in the first place."
"It's either that or the streets. I can't continue to have a failure in my house." my "father" says in a cold tone.
I stopped playing with my sweatshirt strings and looked up at him in shock.
"You know what-" I paused.
"Fuck you." I got up from my bed, grabbed a pair of shoes, my phone, and walked out. My father tried to grab me but I pushed him.
"If you don't want a failure as a daughter, then I don't want a piece of shit as a father." I yell as I put on my shoes and leave the house. My father's yelling muffled as I slammed the door.
I'm not sure where I'm going, but I can't stay in that house.
As my walk to nowhere continued, my dad kept calling me over and over. I shut my phone off.
A few cars drove past. I saw one car that was driving a bit strange, but I shook it off and continued on.
Then I realized the car was swerving off the road and coming towards me.
-
When I opened my eyes, I was looking at myself on the ground, paramedics, police cars, and everything that would be at an accident.
I saw both of my parents rushing to the scene. They were sobbing. My dad kept on repeating "this is all my fault". My mother was trying to console him while wiping her own tears.
I was dead.
Apparently I was killed by a drunk driver.
I stared at my hands, which were now extremely pale and translucent.
I walked up to my parents and touched them. They were startled and frantically looked around.
They can't see me?
I shrugged it off, hugged them and walked away. I think they finally realized that I was there. At least, I hope so.
I thought I would be more emotional about this whole dying thing. I strangely feel at peace even after seeing my parents upset.
I went to the forest and sat by my favorite tree.
I thought ghosts were supposed to leave earth after they die? Why am I still-
I suddenly saw transparent legs in front of me. I looked up to see a familiar face.
"Jimin?" I quickly stood up. He smiled and pulled me in for a hug.
"I can't believe it's you! I thought you were gone for good." I pulled back and stared at him. His smile faded a little.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I'm very happy to see you, but not like this." Jimin sighed.
"What do you.." I trailed off. Then I remembered that I was dead.
"I wanted to see you happy and..." Jimin stared at the ground, "-alive."
"Well, I am happy if nothing else. I finally get to see you after 2 years-" I paused.
"Hey wait- why'd you come back after I died? Couldn't you have come back before?" I rose an eyebrow.
"I thought you would be better off without me. After everything that happened, I figured that I was making your life harder" Jimin said quietly.
"You didn't though. I mean- the whole school making fun of me wasn't great, or the creepy ghost girl-" Jimin looked upset.
"Regardless of those things, you managed to bring happiness in my life that I really didn't have." I patted his shoulder. Jimin managed to give me a small smile.
I grabbed his hand and we both sat down at the tree.
I placed my head on his shoulder.
"You know whats weird?" Jimin started.
"What?"
"We died the same way."
He's right. I'm not sure if he was walking like me or not, but it was a car accident nonetheless.
"Maybe that means we're soulmates or something." I laughed.
"Maybe you're right." Jimin smiled and squeezed my hand.
Suddenly I had an odd feeling throughout my whole body. I lifted my head from Jimin's shoulder and observed my hands frantically.
Jimin noticed my panic and patted my head.
"What's going on?"
"We're leaving now." Jimin said calmly.
"What do you mean WE?" I furrowed my brow.
"Notice how you were still on earth after you died?" Jimin tapped his head with one finger.
I stopped panicking and thought about what he said.
Subconsciously, I must've wanted to see Jimin before I left. I don't know why I didn't think about that earlier-
The tingly feeling continued to grow. I took a deep breath and Jimin held my hand tightly.
As the odd sensation progressed, we slowly started to fade away.
