"Ana if you don't get your butt down here you're walking!" Steve, my older brother yelled from downstairs. He is such a whiny brat. I groan as I finish curling my hair. It's frizzy but it will have to do.
"Calm your tits Steve, I'm coming!" I yell as I grab my backpack up off of the tile floor. I head down stairs and find Mom is cleaning up the breakfast plates, Dad is in his recliner as usual.
"What the heck? Did you guys eat without me?!" I exclaim.
Mom shrugs as she scrubs a pan. "You shouldn't have taken so long, sweetie. I called for you three times."
"Well I'm sorry. Do you think this comes naturally?" I motion to my face and my mane.
"Your ugliness? Yes. Absolutely." Steve snickers. "You fell down the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down."
"Quit acting like a five year old!" I scoff.
"Would you guys cool it. You're gonna disturb the neighbors. We don't need another noise complaint." Dad remarks as he flips through an automobile magazine.
"Noise complaint?" Steve mumbles.
"Yeah it was from that time when you had Nancy over-"
He slaps a hand over my mouth. "See ya guys! Love you!" He yells before shutting the front door. I shove him and grimace.
"Keep your nasty hands off of me. I don't know where those things have been." I wipe my mouth. Steve chuckles behind me. We hop in his car and head to The Wheeler's house to pickup Nancy, Steve's girlfriend.
"Go ahead and clear a spot in the back." He says as we approach the Wheeler residence.
"For what a dead body?" I ask sarcastically making my brother roll his eyes at me.
"No, for you silly." He says as he unbuckles my seatbelt and lightly honks his horn trying to get Nancy's attention.
"I can't wait until she decides she doesn't like you again and I get my seat back." I remark as I hop in the back. He visibly gets excited when he sees Nancy running out to the car.
"Heyyy." Steve says as Nancy hops in.
"Hey there." She says giving him a quick peck on the lips, making me gag. She smirks and faces me. "Hey, Ana."
"Hey Nanc." I say before leaning up and turning the radio on.
They shake their heads at each other before pulling out of the subdivision. It's not that I don't like Nancy, I just don't exactly like that she is with my brother.
Steve and I have been close knit ever since we were born. Sure he's always been a douche but I love him anyway. Ever since they started dating he's been distant towards me and it's sucks. I'm a loner and he's really my only friend.
I glance out the window as I try to block out Steve and Nancy's conversation. So far this school year has been better than the last one. After all the crap we went through, I think we deserve a break. We finally arrive at the school, making me zone back in.
