Because of you- Lizzie

^^heart's been broke so many times

"I'm okay, Jo." Lizzie reassures, even though she feels like her mind is breaking.

Josie frowns hesitantly, glancing at the studio apartment she's now officially staying at.

"You haven't had your test back though, maybe I should stay until you do." Josie says.

"Josette, I will be fine." Lizzie says sternly. "You deserve to live a normal life without all the crazy that is our school."

"Why do I feel like I'm abandoning you?" Josie asks.

Lizzie smiles softly and grabs Josie's hands.
"Josie, you've spent your whole life worrying about me and protecting me, now is your chance to live a normal human life without us. That doesn't mean you're leaving me behind, I'll still be here. I can come visit on weekends if you aren't too busy kissing your hipster girlfriend." Lizzie says which makes Josie blush. "We're gonna be okay."

"You promise?" Josie asks innocently.

"I promise." Lizzie reassures. "Come here." Josie waddles into Lizzie's arms and rests her head on her sisters shoulder, throwing her arms around her waist. "I'm proud of you for going after what you want."

Josie sniffs. "I still can't believe MG left."

Lizzie's heart breaks at that. "Me too." Her voice cracks and tears spring into her eyes.

"No. No, I-I'm not moving." Josie says and pulls away from the hug. "I can't leave you. MG is gone, Hope is turning psychotic, Dad is taking a new attachment to Kaleb, you don't have anyone. I can't leave you alone."

Even though Josie's words shoot right through Lizzie's heart, she smiles and cups Josie's cheeks. "I'm not alone, ok? I have...Jed and Wade." She grimaces which makes Josie let out a watery giggle. "You're not leaving me alone, I promise. Now, get your cute little butt into that apartment and live your life, Josette, don't worry about
me."

"But-"

"No buts. I'm the older sister which means I take care of you. Now, go." Lizzie smiles.

Josie pouts at her sister, not wanting to leave her. "Stay the night, we can have a movie night."

"Josie." Lizzie says sternly. Josie sighs.

"Ok." She mumbles.

"Here," Lizzie pulls her purse out. "Just a little something to keep you your feet."

"Lizzie, I'm not taking your money." Josie shakes her head.

"Did Dad give you any?" Lizzie asks which makes Josie fall silent. "Exactly. There's enough for food and little shopping spree, I know you said no magic, but I had Kaleb compel your landlord to let you live rent free."

"Lizzie..." Josie trails off and looks down at the money.

"Take it, if I need money I'll just go to Hope and remind her that she almost killed me." Lizzie says playfully.

Josie sighs and lowers her hands, shaking her head. Lizzie huffs and shoves the cash into Josie's coat pocket.

"I have more than enough money, that country club I worked at last summer paid really well." Lizzie reassures.

"I'll pay you back." Josie promises.

"Don't worry about it." Lizzie brushes off before pulling Josie into another hug. Both of them have silent tears running down their cheeks. "Oh this is silly, I'm gonna see you tomorrow."

"I'm gonna miss you." Josie cries.

"I'm gonna miss you too." Lizzie sniffs, giggling when Josie squeezes her tightly. They stay like this for another minute before Lizzie tries to pull away, only for Josie to cling to her even tighter. "You gotta let me go sometime, Jo."
