Lately, Kaye head to been feeling herself. She's more tired than usual, she's finding it hard to keep a smile on her face, the things she used to love now seem like far away dreams. Her friends haven't noticed her change in behaviour, apart from Jenny that is, that girl knows everything. She's tried to get Kaylee to talk to her, but Kaylee has pushed her so far away that Jenny feels useless.
She snapped at the girl and Kaylee never snaps, she's always relaxed and down to earth, but she didn't want Jenny telling her she's depressed, she knows that...she thinks. The look of hurt and betrayal that took over Jenny's face still haunts Kaylee to this day. She remembers her friends voice cracking as she weakly apologised to trying to help, she remembers the tears that swam in her blue eyes, and she remembers hearing the sobs as Jenny ran away from her.
Jenny can barely look at her now, Kaylee doesn't blame her, she called her an orphan. A worthless orphan who is only making her problems worse. Kaylee knew how ruined Jenny was when she lost her parents a couple years ago, and that word, Jenny has hated that word since she could talk. Kaylee knew that and used it against her to push her away.
Kaylee hasn't apologised, because if she does then Jenny will try and help her and she doesn't want that. God, but she hates the way Jenny deflates and curls into herself whenever Kaylee walks into the room, it's like she's hit with a wave of sadness each time she's sees her.
She's successfully pushed away everyone who cares about her, including her family. She doesn't want to go to a therapist because that will be admitting that there's something actually wrong with her...so she settled for the next best option.
She hired a prostitute.
She just needs to talk to a stranger who won't actually care. She just needs to get it all off her chest.
Kaylee is torn from her thoughts when someone knocks on her door.
She runs her hand through her hair as she gets up to answer the door.
"Are you Kaylee?" The girl asks.
Kaylee wordlessly nods and lets the girl in, who only barely looks old enough to be 18.
"Where do you want to do this?" You ask and shrug your coat off.
Kaylee runs her eyes over the flimsy lingerie you have on. She frowns and looks down.
"Are you mute?" You ask quietly. "Because I can work with that-"
"No, I-I'm not." Kaylee shakes her head. She feels her eyes get heavier as tears fill them.
"Are you okay, Miss?" You ask with a small frown.
Kaylee grunts and wipes her cheeks clean. She's so fucking sick of crying!
"I'm gonna be honest." Kaylee starts. "I don't to have sex with you o-or anything like that."
"Why am I here then?" You ask confusedly.
"I need someone to talk to." She admits quietly.
"I'm not a therapist, Kaylee, ok? If you have issues, go to a therapist." You sigh. "I'll be going then."
"No! Please just- please." Kaylee begs weakly. "I-I'll still pay you. You don't even have to say anything, I just need to get this off my chest."
You sigh deeply. "Fine."
Kaylee sniffs and gestures to her couch. You sit down and she follows you, keeping a distance between you two.
"What's on your mind?" You ask.
Kaylee pulls her knees up to her chest. "Everything just feels useless right now. I feel like I'm living the same day, everyday. I wake up, got to work, pretend to be happy, then I come home, alone. I haven't got anyone to come home to. My family lives in another country. I've pushed all my friends away. I've hurt the people who love me, all because I'm falling apart."
