-Set to Brother Black's "Silent Warrior"

My heart and flesh fail
As I hear His silence surround
Yet my few chapters within His tale
I know
Between His covers of faithfulness and truth are bound

To the waves of my self mourning and lust
His Word from of old rebukes and instructs
"Blessed are those who keep My ways
Who listen and watch for Me daily
(Seeking Me diligently)
Waiting at My gates"

O Lord, forgive me of this worldly wisdom and reason
That I have been listening to in this seeming "out" of season
Selfishly slumbering from my vigilance
Holy Spirit awaken me to pursue You in diligence

Of my heart, O Lord, You are the strength
You pursue me in my wandering
And are mindful for Your covenant's sake
Your truth takes hold of my gaze, withdrawing
Away from self's spotlight and to You conducting

You live in me that I may live for You
Your breath in Me to praise and renew
In mysterious mercy, made holy before my youth
Ordained and sanctified to proclaim Your truth

Selah

Silently I will wait, off to the side
Patient's fire to perfect and sanctify
My instrument in hand and me in Your's
My heart's eyes seeing You
For they have been made pure

Your perfect peace in me resides
For my mind on You abides
"Revel, rejoice, and glorify
(In season and out of season)
O you His Waiting Bride!"
