"And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions." ~Joel 2:28

"So David inquired of the Lord, saying, 'Shall I go up...?' " ~2 Samuel 5:19

"The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. It is good for a man to bear the yoke in his youth. Let him sit alone and keep silent, because God has laid it on him; let him put his mouth in the dust— there may yet be hope." ~Lamentations 3:25-29

1. O Lord, am I in the position
To receive and know Your vision?
Or birthed from dissatisfaction
Are these dreams and imaginations?

2. You promised that we would dream
Yet are we in a position to receive?
Are our hearts plowed and prepared
Through the fellowship of Your Word & prayer?

3. Though these dreams bring inspiration
Are they a deeper fretting disguised as vision?
In mercy, please tell me, if these desires are Your's
Cause Thy truth's flames to try it and be sure

4. On the one hand, I fear I am setting
My mind on high things; humility (contentment) forgetting
And in the other, I tremble in hope expecting
Of a hidden seed sleeping, awaiting
For Your provision, watering

5. By Your Sword, divide my soul and spirit
And discern my heart's thoughts and intents
For who can know the things of man; from his spirit, apart?
Yet man's spirit is God's lamp
Searching all the inner depths of his heart

6. Deliver me from vain pursuits
Like a lone branch that cannot bear You fruit
And do not let live this seed
Or I will be but a hungry man who dreams
He eats then awakes- but his soul is still empty

7. Only when this branch is in the vine
And this grain of wheat dies
His Word in me and I in Him abide
Can I bear much fruit
That He be glorified

8. You, O Lord, who know the hearts of all
Exalted and lifted up, not blinded by our Fall
When we lay open our hearts as best as we know how
Fulfill Your promise that when we seek, You will be found

9. Let Your light burn away the mists that shroud
I will not concern myself with things too profound
My heart is not haughty nor my eyes lofty
But I'll be with You who regard the lowly

10. To You I lay the ground of my heart bare
Let Your light uncover all my hidden dens and veils
Rescue me from being lost in vanity's dreams and snares
For to figure the future apart from You
My flesh and my heart will fail

11. Preserve me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked
Who seek to divert and distract me from Your call, my mission
Who have purposed to make my steps stumble
Striving by discontentment to shake me
From remaining humble

12. So by Your Holy Spirit, this soul awake!
In which I should walk, cause me to know the way
By Your Sword try me and know my anxieties
To see if there's any wickedness (foolishness)
And to lead me in the way everlasting

"Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart. And lean not on YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING. In ALL your ways, acknowledge Him. And HE SHALL direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones." ~Proverbs 3:3-8

"Good and upright is the Lord, therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice and the humble He teaches His way." ~Psalm 25:8-9

"Commit your works to the Lord and your thoughts will be established." ~Proverbs 16:3
