(I understand Tinley is usually spelled, Tenley. I spelled it this way after a friend's little girl. They spelled her name this way and I like it.)

_______________

~Tinley's point of view~

~A year earlier~

My name is Tinley Graceland. I am twenty-three years old. I live alone in a home I purchased on my own two years ago. I do well for myself. I am a nurse practitioner. I love what I do and wouldn't change it for anything. I get enjoyment out of it. I don't work as a traditional nurse practitioner. I fill in for local schools when their school nurses call out, and I work for my brother. I do well for myself. I can't say I earned it all. Nick gave me what my mother left for me when I graduated from school. I have money.

I don't do much, though. I prefer to stay at home; I have never been a partier or a drinker. Even during college, I would go to school and come home. I didn't work. Nick wouldn't let me. Nick is my brother; he is thirty-five. He raised me; our mom was a single mom; she died when I was six. He was nineteen and refused to let me be put in the system. Our mom left a decent estate behind. According to Nick, my dad had money. He died when I was two and left everything to her. She left it to us. Nick's dad is a piece of shit that only has use for Nick when he needs money.

Nick went to college. He studied business management; he had his master's in it. I had a nanny while he was in school. Nick and Tandy fell in love, and they have been married for seven years. He was also into racing. As far back as I can remember, we spent every weekend at the track. Nick had a passion for it. Now he is the general manager of the track. During the week, he is in the office. He is on the track on the weekends. He allows Tandy to be with me down there.

It's fun and exciting. It definitely gets your heart racing. The fast cars and unintentional accidents. I am the nurse practitioner for the track. I got the job before Nick became the GM. I am here any time there is a race or anytime a driver is on the track. I handle any minor issues that may arise from a crash or just plain accidents. I love it. It's rewarding; I do have an office at headquarters. I have to file all the paperwork about any injures. Even if someone just breaks a fingernail. I do it all on Fridays. It's how I did it before Nick even took over. He didn't take over. He bought it; very few people know that, though. Our family and the family he bought it from.

Since he has owned it, he expanded on the types of races that are held there. Three times a year, the track is filled with dirt, and dirt bike races are held there. Those are the times my work is harder. Those guys are crazy and are more than likely to have an accident or do something stupid before a race starts. I don't just take care of the men, though. I have a tent. If a fan gets hurt, I take care of them too. My job isn't the only reason I go to the track. I have a major crush on one of the stock car drivers.
