It was a long night but the paw patrol, Mayor Goodway, and Brittney all managed to get enough sleep despite being up until 3am. The pups were starting to feel hungry but when Brittney gave them food, Ryder wasn't hungry and he wasn't eating at all. "Ryder, you need to eat ok? If you don't eat then you will get worse." Brittney told Ryder as she gave him some soup but he refused to eat. Ryder shook his head no to what Brittney told him so she then told him "Please Ryder! The pups already ate and they're now asleep so if you eat then you can sleep." Ryder shook his head no again. Mayor Goodway then peaked into the room and she asked "Is everything ok?" "No, Ryder's not eating." Brittney explained to Mayor Goodway. "Ryder, why aren't you eating?" Mayor Goodway asked Ryder but Ryder stayed quiet. "Did you get enough food at the lab?" Mayor Goodway asked and Ryder shook his head no. Mayor Goodway then told Ryder in a calm and motherly way "Ryder, you're not at the lab anymore and if you don't eat at all then you can get really sick or worse. Just try the soup ok? It'll help you feel better." Ryder then tried the soup and he then ate it. Once he was done, Mayor Goodway helped Ryder lay down and she tucked him in. Brittney smiled at the moment and she then left the room but when Mayor Goodway was about to leave the room, Ryder grabbed her sleeve like he doesn't want her to go. Mayor Goodway got the message and she told Ryder "Alright, I'll stay here with you." Ryder smiled.
When Brittney went back to check on Ryder and she noticed that Mayor Goodway didn't leave the room. She peaked into the room and she saw Mayor Goodway asleep with Ryder hugging her in his sleep like he's a child hugging his mom. Brittney couldn't help but smile at the moment and she then quietly tipped toed into the room and she adjusted the blanket so both Mayor Goodway and Ryder are tucked in. Chickaletta then entered the room but she stayed by the doorway. Brittney saw and she put a finger to her mouth as if to tell Chickaletta to stay quiet and Chickaletta got the message and the two then left the room to let the pups, Ryder, and Mayor Goodway sleep.
After almost two hours at 12:00pm, Julia and Julius came over. Brittney just moved the pups to the guest room across the room Ryder's in so just in case of something going on with Ryder the pups wouldn't wake up. Anyways, Ryder was currently awake just sitting up in his bed just bored out of his mind but then Julia and Julius knocked on the door. "Come in!" Ryder exclaimed and the twins did and they immediately hugged him. Ryder did muttered but he then exclaimed "I got hugged attack!!! Eek!!!" The twins giggled and the two sit on the bed. "So how was your guys's day?" Ryder asked and the twins started to tell Ryder about their day. Ryder payed attention as the twins told Ryder their day and Ryder giggled at a few funny moments the twins explained. Afterwards they all then decided to play games that Ryder could play like rock, paper, scissors, eye-spy, you know like car games or easy to access games that don't required anyone to move at all of they were stuck in bed.
Ryder couldn't help but feel like he's a little kid again. A little kid that came from w bad environment to a good environment and was really weak, wouldn't eat food yet, didn't talk alot, and he really didn't like sleeping alone which is why he always had a plushy but for now Ryder has one of the pillows on the bed. Anyways they all played until they all started to feel tired and one by one they all fell asleep on the bed. When Mayor Goodway went to check on them, she saw Julius and Julia snuggled up to Ryder who's hugging his pillow. Mayor Goodway obviously took a picture because of how cute it looked. She then left them all alone so they can all sleep but Julia and Julius woke up before Mayor Goodway left the room and the two followed her out of the room so they can let Ryder rest.
In the middle of the night tho, Ryder woke up to two people talking so Ryder got out of bed and he limped to the stairs so he can listen in. "Brittney, I'm really concerned about Ryder. He has barely eaten when he got here and that he's barely getting any better. Plus I'm worried about if Mr. Andrea or if Dr. Haxley come back, those two may take Ryder away because they're his grandfathers." A voice that sounded like Mayor Goodway explained. 'Dr. Haxley is my grandfather?!' Ryder thought in his head before listening in. "Beverly, it's gonna be ok. We're not going to let those two get him at all and we will make sure that he gets better." A voice that sounded like Brittney told Mayor Goodway. 'They're talking about me....' Ryder though in his head. "I'm just worried that he may get taken away by Mr. Andrea and we would never see him again plus he may live a horrible life with Mr. Andrea since Mr. Andrea is known for being in the perfect family but I knew that Lindsay used to live with him and the many scars she got from him." Mayor Goodway admitted and Ryder was shocked. He didn't know that his own mother was also abused but he figured why she treated Ryder the way she did. Ryder then decided to get a closer look so he went closer to the stairs. "Mr. Andrea is not and I repeat not coming to Adventure Bay and to get Ryder when I'm here ok? I will make sure that he's protected along with the pups, you, and Chickaletta." Brittney told Mayor Goodway and the two smiled.
Ryder still couldn't believe on what he just heard because he had no idea about his grandparents but now he is and he doesn't even know a Mr. Andrea at all! No one mentioned Mr. Andrea to him in his entire life, not even his mother. He knew that they were hiding something from him and he was starting to get worried. What else does he not know about his family? Are most of his family members mean? Why did Dr. Haxley treat Ryder the way he did? Was Mr. Andrea the reason why Lindsay the way she is? Was his grandmothers like this? Who are his grandmothers? Are they even alive? Does he have any Aunts and Uncles? What about cousins. Thoughts started to fill his head to the point he feels like he's not the only one who was thinking these questions about his family.

That's when Ryder took one step without looking and he then fell down the stairs. Well, more like tumble down the stairs but still. Ryder's vision then started to go blurry when he finally stopped since he was at the bottom but he heard two voices exclaimed "RYDER!!!!!" Ryder then saw two blurry figures that looked like Mayor Goodway and Brittney but then his vision started to go red which scared him a bit. He didn't know what was going on but he heard the voices say "He doesn't need to.... hospital..." "OH THANK GOODNESS!!!" "We're lucky tha.... It's not a major...." Ryder then heard the voices going quiet and Ryder felt like he was starting to pass out.
Brittney then asked Mayor Goodway "Where's the first aid kit?" "It should be in the bathroom. I can take Ryder back to the room where he was resting in." Mayor Goodway replied and Brittney nodded. Mayor Goodway then picked up Ryder and she took him back to his room while Brittney grabbed the first aid kit. When Mayor Goodway tucked Ryder in, Brittney came in and she patched up Ryder's head which was bleeding slightly. When she was done, she decided to leave Mayor Goodway alone with Ryder since she could tell that Ryder was about to wake up. Once Ryder woke up, Mayor Goodway asked "What were you doing up so late?" "I-i overheard you and Brittney talking about me." Ryder admitted. "How much did you hear Ryder?" Mayor Goodway now concerned. Ryder started to tear up and he told Mayor Goodway everything that he heard from her and Brittney. Mayor Goodway was shocked and she immediately hugged Ryder who started to cry into her shirt because of how he started to feel scared of what may happen to him and what may happen if his grandfathers come to get him and take him away from Adventure Bay. Mayor Goodway started to comfort Ryder like she used to do when he was little but then she sang to Ryder

Ryder was soon fast asleep and Mayor Goodway smiled while she thought 'There's the three year old that I helped raise and love. Sweet dreams my dear godson...' Mayor Goodway then held Ryder close like a mother protecting her kid.
