"Well, he may take longer to heal since he got hurt while he was still healing. So he may need to stay in bed longer. He can walk around a bit but only to the bathroom. If he feels worse then you may have to admit him back into the hospital ok?" The doctor told Brittney and Mayor Goodway after Ryder's checkup and the two agreed while Mayor Goodway took notes. Once the three were done talking, Ryder was trying to stay awake but then Brittney picked Ryder up and she held him like he's her own child. Ryder surprisingly fell asleep a few seconds later in Brittney's arms. Both Brittney and Mayor Goodway noticed that Ryder was asleep when they got to the car. "Let's get him home back to City Hall." Mayor Goodway whispered to Brittney and Brittney nodded.
Once they got back to City Hall after making a stop at the pharmacy to pick up medicine for Ryder, Brittney took Ryder straight to bed and Mayor Goodway started to think to herself because of how Becky made Ryder more injuried making his recovery worse. She couldn't believe that she was so clueless about Becky and she felt bad about it. "Wait... Today we're supposed to leave around the evening time for a business thing in a different town right?" Brittney asked Mayor Goodway as she came down the stairs. "Oh shoot you're right!!! But who will watch over the pups and Ryder?" Mayor Goodway replied. "What about Jake? The ski lift shouldn't be busy at all." Brittney suggested. "I'll give him a call about it and see if he's free." Mayor Goodway told Brittney.
-Few hours later-
"There's leftover soup in the fridgethat you can heat up if Ryder or the pups are hungry." Mayor Goodway told Jake and Everest. Before Mayor Goodway can say anything, Jake explained "The numbers to contact you and Brittney if you guys can't get to your phones are on the fridge, medicine is in the bathroom's cabinet upstairs, cleaning supplies in the closet, and first aid kit is in each bedroom." "How did you know?" Mayor Goodway asked. "I babysitted for Ryder and Katie before when they were little. Plus I babysitted them here one time remember and I memorized where everything is at." Jake explained. "Thank you for agreeing to this Jake." Mayor Goodway told Jake. "It's the least I can do to help Ryder and the pups since they helped me plenty of times plus Ryder's like my little brother!" Jake admitted. Mayor Goodway smiled and soon Brittney and Mayor Goodway left City Hall.
"Ok, I'll go check on Ryder and you check on the pups?" Jake asked Everest and of course Everest nodded. The two then went upstairs and to different rooms. Once Jake entered Ryder's room, he noticed that Ryder was holding a stuffed dog.

Jake then walked over to Ryder and he told Ryder "Hey little dude, what's up?" Ryder held the stuffed dog out to him and Jake chuckled. "And hello to your new plushy friend too! Do the pups have new plushies too?" Jake asked Ryder and Ryder nodded. "What's your new friend's name?" Jake asked. "B-bennie...." Ryder replied. Jake could barely hear Ryder's voice but he understood what Ryder meant. "Well it's nice to meet you Bennie! I'm Jake!" Jake told the plushy which made Ryder giggled. "Does Bennie have a gender?" Jake asked. "B-bennie's genderfluid." Ryder muttered and Jake smiled. "Well, what do you want to do since we're limited to only you staying in bed." Jake asked Ryder and Ryder started to think for a moment. "N-ninjago?" Ryder asked even tho his voice was almost barely there. "You wanna watch Ninjago on my laptop that I brought just in case you wanna watch something with me?" Jake asked Ryder and Ryder of course nodded. Jake couldn't help but chuckled and he took out his lap top.
After about an hour of watching Ninjago Jake noticed that Ryder was fast asleep so Jake turned off his laptop, put it away, and he quietly left the room. He went by the pups's room and he heard giggling so he peaked in to see the pups all talking and laughing just playing a game called would you rather. "Ok ok ok! Chase, would you rather be Alyssa or be Katie?" Everest asked Chase between laughs. "Katie because she helps takes care of us since she's a veterinarian plus she helps gives us baths when Ryder couldn't. Alyssa is creative with styles of clothing and she's pretty cool but I can't handle how she's a bit like a cat with how slick she is and how she's able to talk to cats but I don't know if my allergies can handle it." Chase explained and the pups quietly clapped from that answer. Jake couldn't help but smile and he let the pups continue their game.
A few hours later after everyone had food, Jake was cleaning up the hallway just to be nice and so Mayor Goodway and Brittney would come home to a clean place. Anyways after he was done sweeping and he was about to pick up the vacuum, Everest ran over to Jake in a panic and she exclaimed "Ryder threw up!!!" "What?!" Jake replied and he quickly ran to Ryder's room where he saw Ryder out of bed but with his head in the trashcan. Jake ran over to Ryder and he grabbed the thermometer and he checked Ryder's fever which was bad. "Everest! Go grab my phone, it should be on the counter!!!" Jake told Everest and she did so. As the two waited for Everest, Ryder looked up at Jake with a teary-eyed face. "It's gonna be ok Ryder, alright? Your big brother is here to help you." Jake told Ryder and Jake reached onto the bed and he grabbed Bennie. Jake gave Ryder Bennie and he told Ryder "Bennie's also here to help you. So don't worry ok? I'll protect you no matter what since you're my little brother." Ryder then hugged Bennie but Ryder leaned against Jake still feeling nauseous. Jake started to worry but luckily Everest returned with Jake's phone and she gave it to Jake. Jake quickly called Mayor Goodway but when he called Brittney he was lucky that she picked up. The conversation went by like a blurr but when Jake hanged up, he told Everest "I'm gonna take Ryder to the hospital. Can you hold down the fort until Mayor Goodway or Brittney come back? I'll probably stay with Ryder until I know about his condition." Everest nodded in confirmation. Jake then told Ryder in a calm way "Ryder, we're going to the hospital ok? You've gotten worse and you need a doctor to look after you." Ryder nodded as he hugged Bennie. Jake then wrapped Ryder up in a blanket and he scooped up Ryder plus he took a puke bucket for the car ride and soon the two quickly left the building leaving Everest alone in charge of the pups. "I hope Ryder will be alright." Everest told herself and she soon went to the pups who were all asleep and she layed down in the room right next to the door in case something comes to hurt the pups.
