Chapter 4: Oppa 'Namtarn' Style

Eleven bright and energetic rookies, freshman members of the Coma house, were spending the afternoon after class to rehearse the performance that would be shown at tomorrow's homecoming event.

They borrowed an empty room of the facility to practice their dance. In addition to the Ban Chul members, other houses had to spend time after class to rehearse the program vigorously, hoping to win the hearts of the elders who would become their mentors on the day of the event ... For this reason, everyone was serious about their show.

“I'm tired. Seriously, why do we have to practice so seriously? It's just a performance for the event,” said a member of the house as everyone sat down after rehearsal.

"No, you guys don't understand that the prize for the winning house is really cool. It's a travel and accommodation package to Phuket!" Opal said, responding in a cajoling tone.

Of course, they wanted to win the hearts of the elderly but the winning travel package for the winning house was the most important to them.

"To be honest, I want to go. But look at our condition first! We haven't finished the first part of the dance yet. Besides, the event will be tomorrow."

"That's why we are going to have to rehearse a lot. I don't want anyone to be left out. Come on" the girl clapped a couple of times as a signal to her friends around who were resting to stand up and get ready to rehearse.

“Let's keep practicing, Deer.”

Namtarn didn't forget to extend his hand out to grab the water bottle from his friend who was about to stand up. This charming act made Namtarn a favorite among classmates and seniors with ease.

"Thanks, Namtarn. But I'm very tired. When I saw the MV, it didn't seem difficult to dance, but when it came to practice, it's really difficult," Deer complained.

"Okay, Deer. It's just for one more day. I know it's hard, but if we put our minds to it, we can definitely do it."

Deer couldn't help but smile at the glare of his little friend. It's been less than a week and Deer felt that he could talk to Namtarn more, and Namtarn was a lot like him.

"Haha, that's it. Let's keep practicing."

“Let's dance until we get on the hook of the song. Turn on the music.” Opal sent a signal to a friend to help him play the music on the radio.

There are days when we don't see each other and that makes you feel bad.
It is not true, it has never happened, I do not meet someone else.
Don't overthink it, I just want you to know.

Opal looked at his friend, who was in charge of rap dancing with exhaustion because the rhythms in that part were the most complicated part of the song.

He looked at the photo of a friend who was smaller than him, dancing in the singer's songline, and couldn't help but laugh… It’s so cute.

The boy's body movements were clumsy, but even he was seeing the efforts of the smallest of the group, who was no less than others.

"I don't want to ask, but I just want to know."

Upon reaching the hook of the song, the rhythm of the dance changed. The uncomplicated choreography that could be followed with ease made them begin to memorize the movements. But since not everyone had dance experience ...

What should he say? The condition he saw then was too insulting, but ...

"Enough already", the song was stopped by the order of Jam. She was able to remember all the choreography and took on the role of teaching her friends. For Opal who was a huge fan of this song, it was a blow.

"Well, the choreography is correct, but ... not the timing."

To be honest, if she talked about individual choreography, it wouldn't be so bad. But when it came to group choreography ...

"We are doing our best, but we can't do it right," the exhaustion made the situation even more frustrating and as a result, a groupmate spoke out with frustration and resentment.

"It's not like I'm going to make a mess at this show, but we're not going to be okay."

"I can say this, I remember everything, but my classmates still can't remember."

Namtarn stared at the situation in panic. The little one could only think that he had to do something. Otherwise, the event was sure to escalate. He walked over and took Opal's arm before saying something.

"Keep calm, I think it is better to take a break", after the little one said that, the two sides let out a sigh and then dispersed to sit on the opposite side of the corner, while Jam who was arguing with Opal, preferred to move away and be able to calm down a bit.

Namtarn, Deer, and some of their friends followed Opal, as they felt that the person who was the angrier was Jam.

"Are we wrong?” Namtarn, wanting to do a good deed, turned and asked his friends how to comfort the person in front of him.

It was normal to want to comfort someone in any situation, each of them nodded to Namtarn, trusting that they definitely had to calm down their friends.

"Calm down first, Opal. I think you must be tired and so are we. Wait for us to rest and then we'll talk about it, okay?" Said the little boy with a sweet smile.

Of course, someone who reluctantly took on the role of House leader would be nervous and anxious. Although he wanted to win a package tour, he had to be honest, Namtarn had always seen how hard Opal set out to do his best with this activity. And on the other hand, Namtarn knew that Opal wanted his house to win. On the day of the event, like his seniors, who had won the award for three years in a row.

"Thank you, Namtarn," Opal looked at his little friend. He had some clear drops in his eyes, but because Namtarn smiled at him, he calmed down. In fact, this was one of the things that made him the favorite of everyone in the group in no time.

Sorry ~

They all turned their gaze to the sound of the door before Jam went into a cold state. Without hesitation, she walked over to where everyone was.

"Opal, I'm sorry," Jam sat up and spoke impatiently.

Seeing that, everyone was able to smile as well.

"I'm sorry. I'm so serious about this that I didn't notice you guys who were tired."

"No, Opal you've done your best for us, but we still don't understand. I'm sorry."

"Well, we’re both wrong?"

"Um," the two of them giggled until they couldn't control themselves, indicating that the current situation had returned to normal, causing everyone in the room to breathe.

"I think we should change the performance. I'm afraid not everyone will be able to remember it."

"Wait, we haven't given up yet. You don't have to worry. Besides, we've practiced together, if we suddenly change the choreography, it will be a shame and maybe we won't have enough time. Tomorrow is the event," he said.

"Don't worry about that, we will continue to maintain the same performance that we can all dance to, but what we are going to change is the choreography. We will definitely catch up. Hehe," he said.

Namtarn felt goosebumps when Opal yelled, he smiled mischievously and looked at him, Namtarn smiled back at him as there was nothing else he could do.

The Ban Chul members' rehearsal proceeded normally as they noticed that the atmosphere in the room began to be tinged with a faint orange glow as the sun soon began to set.

"Good. Perfect performance. Let's go. Let's get together tomorrow."

When they finished practicing the steps of the choreography, Opal, the leader of the house, called everyone to join hands to cheer up the group.

"One, two, three ... Let's fight!"

The eleven people stood in a circle and placed their hands on top of each other. When everyone placed their hands, they emitted a resounding chorus, showcasing the power of harmony and brotherhood.

The applause of the members echoed throughout the room, not forgetting to make a final schedule and then got ready to disperse back to their homes.

"How will you get back, Deer?”

Two 'mini' size friends walked together from the faculty building as they always did after practice.

"I'll probably take an express boat. If I take a taxi at this hour I will probably get stuck in traffic."

"Then, I will accompany you to the port."

"Okay, the pier is here. Namtarn you have to wait for P'Ice, right? Just sit and wait here so you don't have to walk."

"See you tomorrow. "

"Okay, see yah," Namtarn watched as his best friend left.

He seemed to be especially close to Deer, since throughout the week the group members had dispersed to rehearse and prepare their own activities in their respective homes, including his tall friend, Min, who was selected to be the Moon of his house.

The department of business communication in which Namtarn was studying would select the star and the moon on the day of the event, where each house must send a representative of both sexes to compete in the event that day, and thus they would know who will be the representatives of the contest for the faculty.

For the Coma house that Namtarn was in, they also sent a friend from the group. For the role of star, they would have no problem because 'Prae', a member of the house, had a unique personality and a pretty face. But it seemed that the selection of the house moon was a problem because the person who was recruited to be the moon was smaller and more fragile than the sent star. But it would be a problem not to send him, so the unfortunate 'Ikky', who was a bit taller than him and Deer, was undoubtedly not chosen.

Namtarn sat down and waited for his brother to finish his studies as usual.

Fortunately, today, the little ones stopped practicing quickly, so people were walking and he was not as alone as yesterday.

It was normal for the little one to pick up the phone and play something while waiting for his brother. Despite being boring, Namtarn understood that his brother also had some issues, so he acted neatly and waited for his brother in silence.

"Oh, little one!" A deep and familiar voice sounded behind him. The little boy rolled his eyes a bit before turning around. There was only one person in the school who liked to call him that.

"It’s you again, P’Bitter Coffee."

The young man sat in the opposite seat from Namtarn without being invited again. Mangkorn turned left then turned right before saying something.

"Who's called Bitter Coffee? My name is not that."

"P'Bitter Coffee, my name is Namtarn, and don't bother me!" The little one hissed when he got upset with the older one… He already saw that he was tired and still bothered me. It's frustrating.

"My name is Mangkorn, not Bitter Coffee and I know your name is Namtarn, and not little one."

He didn't know why he wanted to talk to his Nong. When they talk, they often end up arguing like this. Still, he knew the limits of what he should do and what he should not do so as not to anger the little one until he warmed up.

"If I'm not mistaken, you are waiting for Ice, right? He's talking to the teacher and will be out soon."

"..."

"Namtarn, are you listening to me?”

Mangkorn saw that the little one in front of him blinked and turned around as usual but this time, he refused to speak, so he couldn't help but ask.

"I'll call the bastard Ice, Namtarn," he said.

Mangkorn then realized how polite the boy in front of him was but he didn't think that just the word 'bastard' would be considered a "blasphemous" word.

"Sorry, I won't say it anymore. Forgive me."

"..."

The little boy was still sitting in silence and Mangkorn felt lost.

"What do you want me to do? Ahh! I'll do whatever you want, just don't be mad at me."

"When I say harsh words, punch me in the mouth. Come on, put your hand in my mouth."

"Go!"

"Yes, yes." The tall man, although still confused, was willing to put his face in the little boy's hands. Although internally, he was afraid of the little one. Hopefully, Namtarn's palm wouldn't be so cruel to his lovely lips.

* Passsss *

The small palm touched the thick lips, not so hard that even Mangkorn froze for an instant. He looked at the younger man in front of him with a serious expression. As if hypnotized, he could smell the faint scent of the child in front of him as the other party brought his palm closer, making him unable to take his eyes off the cute person in front of him, enjoying himself so much that he forgot he was being punished.

"Don't say bad words again. Today, Namtarn will forgive you, but just this once."

"..."

This was not a punishment. That's just too cute.

"You understand?" The little boy asked in a harsh tone.

"Hah ... Hah, I understand… Iced cocoa. Recently, there was one for free, so I will bring it to you."

The little boy did not understand the reason for the sudden cold cup of chocolate as Mangkorn hurriedly left his seat without giving him a chance to ask what was the reason for bringing him chocolate.

Today was a good day. The elder Mangkorn was a fool but he gave him a glass of iced cocoa, so he took it. He also taught him to speak well and not say bad words. This had been a very good day for Namtarn

"Hurry up and take a shower, Namtarn."
"Ok"

"Do you want me to help you shower today?"

"No. Namtarn will bathe alone today!" Said the little boy before pushing his older brother out of the bathroom.

Once out of the bathroom, the young boy did not forget to lock the door to prevent outsiders from interfering with his next activities.

Ice arched his eyebrows in a slight daze, wondering why his younger brother was suddenly so strange. From a positive point of view, his brother must have started to grow into a young man. He shook his head slightly before leaving the bathroom area to give his brother some time.

"Very good", after Namtarn stripped off his clothes until he was completely naked, he turned on the phone to play the music already set.

Namtarn moved to the rhythm of the choreography, listening to the music that came from the mobile phone since it was a new choreography that they just practiced.

And this was why the little boy did not let his brother bathe with him. To be honest, Namtarn was embarrassed…

•••

"Hi. Hi. "

"Welcome to the freshmen party."

"Today, as you know, we all intend to organize this activity to welcome all the freshmen."

"I hope that we are all together until the fourth year, and most importantly, if there is a problem, you can always come and check with us."

“Okay, let's talk about today's activities. It will be divided into three phases. The first part is a contest activity of the stars and moons, the second phase is the house show, and finally, it will be to tell you who will be your mentor, and after that, we will have a feast. "

"And in order not to waste time, I would like to invite the students who represent the stars and moons of the four houses to come closer."

The Star-Moon Contest was a fun contest, where each delegate did their job to perfection, both answering questions and performing alone. The decision was made by the audience. This year's winner was 'Da', a girl with confidence and powerful dance, while the moon position went to 'Min' as he answered the questions intelligently and also had an attitude. His performance was overwhelming as he captivated the audience with his interpretation through singing and guitar.

"I invite the star and the moon of this year to take some photos together with the stars and moons of previous years."

After the sound of the ceremonies, everyone in the meeting room started running out of their seats. This included Namtarn's group as they all intended to walk up to Min to congratulate him on his new title.

"Congratulations, handsome Min," Muay said, handing him a bouquet to congratulate his friend. Min was in his full uniform. On his face, he had some makeup, and his hair was very well-groomed. In general, Min looked much better than the girls in the group.

"Thank you all very much. Come on. Let's take a picture."

"Shame on you! You look so handsome today."

"Come on. We are all ourselves."

"Congratulations, Min." Namtarn congratulated his close friend. The tall friend gently looked at the short man before responding sweetly.

"Thanks, Namtarn."

"Why are you so cute," Jah joked when he saw the sweetness with which the moon spoke.

She knew they were friends, but a young woman like her couldn't help but get strange ideas. Look, one side was tall and sharp, and the other was so cute and cuddly.

"Let's take the photo so we can go change."

After the group members had their photos taken, everyone returned to the meeting room so that they could finish at 7 PM.

Namtarn sat down with members of the Coma house to prepare for the performance. The young man felt his heartbeat with excitement for the upcoming show.

"What's up Namtarn?" Opal asked his friend, who was shaking with concern.

"Well, I'm nervous." The little boy had a pale face that Opal had to stretch out and lightly squeeze the little boy's arm.

"I can't help but be nervous. So let's think it's best to go out and have fun together."

"Umm.

“Well, I know we're excited, but let's think about the comedic freshman drama over. Even if it wasn't a comedy.”

The entire audience laughed at the jokes of the presenter. The members of 'Macro House' initially intended to do a drama, but did not know what to do, and the students had forgotten the script that they had to turn it into a comedy act.

"We lost a lot of time talking, so let's get to know the performance of the Coma house."

The melody of the now popular "Love Siren" song was playing. The sound of screaming from the audience echoed throughout the room.

The seven female members of the house wore man's outfits, only one of them wore a woman's dress. A new performance where everyone thought it was a play, in which the seven women dressed as men compete to flirt with Prae, and when she reached the essential moment of the song, they extended their own performance on their own to dance as it had been practiced.

The audience was enjoying the show. In addition to singing, Coma chose to also use a trending song, which was easy to sing. Although the choreography of them was not very strong and in unison, they had to recognize that Coma's interpretation had gained a lot for creativity.

When the hook of the song ended, the audience was puzzled as the song coming out of the speakers sounded like a wobbly record, before the performers on stage went into shock as if over-acting and the melody were switched with the members. The three men from the house came out from behind the stage.

Oppa Gangnam Style.

🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵

The hilarious melody and tone of the legendary singer (PSY) came out with his all-time hit Gangnam Style, which was one of the most viewed songs in the world.

The three male members appeared in cute bear mascot costumes to parody the original. All three danced in a somewhat awkward and uncoordinated way, but were charmingly dressed, bringing the older men and women together to cheer loudly as if they were in the army. Namtarn takes center stage and apparently has a lot of fans.

Oppa Gangnam Style.
O… O… O… Oppa Gangnam Style.
Heeyy… Sexy lady.
O… O… O… Oppa Gangnam Style.

🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵

The remaining eight women took the stage to join the three bears dancing in a cute gallop. Coma house's performance became even more riveting before PSY's voice finally came to an end, with all ten members kneeling in the center of the stage.

A nice final pose, with a small person stretching out his hands forcefully and placing them against both of his cheeks.

🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵
Oppa Gangnam Style!
  🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵

The music ended with a spotlight on Namtarn. The little boy gave the audience a big smilki e until his eyes twinkled. The little one's excitement was replaced by one of fun doing something like this for the first time.

"Damn it's so cute ."

"What are you doing, Mangkorn?"

"I'm just thinking about it.”

"Really?"

"Hmm ..."

"Well, I'm going to prepare for the mentor's ceremony."

"Okay, make yourself comfortable, friend."
