Chapter 1: In Search of a Mentor.

"What's wrong? Namtarn's pouting face can be seen from afar." The older brother asked as the boy's cheeks bulged from anger. In the young man's hands, he was holding a tray of food. Namtarn placed two drinks and two appetizing chocolate cakes on the table.

"Namtarn got hit by someone who called Namtarn short. I'm mad!" The boy who thought he had been hit by a stranger a few minutes ago was still simmering. When he got to the table, he spoke to Namkang almost immediately until his brother couldn't help but laugh at the image of the little boy in front of him.

"What are you laughing at P'Namkang?" Namtarn said grumpily when he saw Namkang laughing. So Namkang had to hurry up to quickly reconcile with him.

"Just having a little fun. Come and have the cake quickly, or we won't be on time." Namtarn realized that he had two delicious cakes in front of him and turned his attention to the delicious cake in a good mood. He used a small fork to pick it up and eat it tenderly.

"Why are you so upset?" Namkang asked the reason why his little brother was in such a bad mood. Not forgetting to ask the question when the delicious cake reached Namtarn's mouth so that he would not get frustrated anymore. When his brother ate something delicious, his mood would change immediately.

"Oh ... is ... e ... that …"

"Chew everything first and then talk." Namtarn hastened to chew, as his brother told him and after swallowing he spoke.

"Just now when I went to pick up the order, I picked up the wrong drink without realizing it. But the owner of the drink came in and told me I was short." The misunderstanding continued. He didn't know who told Namtarn that, but Namtarn was angry. He just sucked the cake in one gulp without realizing it!

"Hmm ... but Namtarn was wrong. A moment ago when you got up to pick up the order, I tried to call you but you rushed to go first," said Namkang. Although he loved his brother, he did not pamper him in that sense. Yes, his brother was really to blame, so he was to blame. The two brothers always talked about being right. Although Namtarn was very slow to understand and was very young. But he was always willing to listen to everything, he was taught.

"And did you apologize to him?"

"Well ... Umm ..." The little boy started to laugh as an excuse for his brother.

"Here we are. This time I'll pass it on to you, I'll only let you eat a single piece of cake. But next time, if Namtarn has made a mistake and refused to apologize, I won't take Namtarn to eat Bingsu."

"Okay, I get it" Namtarn accepted the punishment with a soft voice. But if he had to lose one of the cakes in front of him in exchange for eating Bingsu every night, it would be better to lose the cake.

"Then hurry up and eat, we'll go to college."

Namtarn put his fork down on the plate, before making a gray expression at his brother, and immediately asked him. Because if he guessed correctly, his brother would care what he was thinking.

"I'm worried"

"You're scared," Namkang said, looking at his brother sympathetically. He reached out to stroke his head as he always did with love.

"Don't worry. College life is not like high school life. You will make friends very quickly. In any case, you have your brother. So no one will mess with you." The little boy raised his head to look at his older brother. Namtarn's face was so full of anxiety that he thought that he(Namtarn) would scream at any moment.

"P'Namkang, you're going to leave me in the classroom!"

"Yes, I'll drop you off in the classroom."

There were fifteen minutes left before the first class of the morning began. Namkang took his brother to the community college building. This was because during the first year most students would have to study with their fellow faculties first. After all, most of the subjects of the first year were fundamentals in college. Then, they would begin to study their specific subject separately during the second semester.

Namtarn tried to persuade his brother to sit with him. Even if Namkang wanted, he couldn't because he had morning lessons. He couldn't do much for his brother as he expected. Namkang can only be with Namtarn for as long as possible before leaving for his sophomore classes.

"I don't want to go in at all," the little boy clung to Namkang's arms like a baby monkey until the passersby students began to pay attention to the image they saw in front of them.

"Don't be afraid. Let's go into the classroom. You will soon find a friend, and your older brother will be forgotten."

"Hey! Namtarn will stay with you, P'Namkang. Don't worry." Namkang laughed at the tone his brother used. Since he couldn't sit and study with his brother, he would at least like to go in and send his little brother to the classroom.

"Are you coming to sit with us? My name is Muay. What's your name?" When Namtarn entered the classroom, Namkang led his brother to sit and wait in the back, because his brother didn't like being the center of attention. But suddenly a cute girl in a messy uniform came over to talk to Namtarn. If you are guessing, she would be one of Namtarn's classmates. The identity card hanging from her neck showed she was from the College of Liberal Arts. Business communication program.

"My name is Namtarn," he replied in uncertainty. Although he knew that the person in front of him would be his classmate, their ages were different.

"Hi, Namtarn. Come sit with us. There are four of us in this group and we are all friends." When the girl in front of him gave the speech, Namtarn turned to his brother with a shy expression as if asking for advice. Namkang did nothing but smile and nod a little, and then spoke.

"See you in the afternoon. I'm going to class."

"Okay," Namkang looked at his younger brother, who was following a group of classmates. Even if he saw that Namkang didn't feel comfortable at all. He was concerned if his younger brother could get along with that group of friends. But he ultimately decided to believe in his brother that he would be able to overcome obstacles and become a strong adult. So he agreed to leave the lecture hall, which was the freshmen's study place, to prepare for his class.

"Sit down, Namtarn." The owner of the name still had an awkward attitude, but he agreed to sit down as the new friend named Muay said.

At that moment, Namtarn was sitting in the middle of the room, a place that went unnoticed most of the time, which made him comfortable. Also, the new group of friends that he had come to know seemed to be easily accessible. Each of them was quite friendly.

"Everyone, this is a new friend named Namtarn, and this person's name is Ja. She's another woman in the group. The tall man is Min and the name of this little one is Deer," Namtarn greeted all the new friends. Now that he was starting to overcome his anxiety, he started talking to everyone more naturally. At least what Namtarn has feared all week was over.

"Oh yeah. That's how you yell. That's Sky, he's so handsome." As soon as the tall man appeared many students' voices grew louder, but not too loud as they still respected the place.

"It is true that he is very handsome. I did not think that I could sit and study together. I want to go and ask him for a photo."

"I don't see him as handsome at all. We are much prettier, right? Deer, Namtarn." But it seemed that in this room, there was a person who did not understand the beautiful appearance of a young actor. So he couldn't help it. Min was sure that he couldn't be less handsome than that famous actor. And he would demonstrate it by taking the position of the moon.

"Yes. You don't have to bless yourself. You should know that you are handsome, but less than Sky anyway."

"I didn't ask you. I asked Deer and Namtarn."

"Handsome, yeah right," Deer continued choosing to side with the girls in the group anyway until the tallest of the group(Min) couldn't help but pout and asked the smallest friend in the group.

"We can ask Namtarn. I'm prettier right?"

"You are handsome Min, the most handsome," Namtarn replied in a pleasant tone. It wasn't, because he felt his new friend wasn't handsome. It was because his classmates were yelling.

"Come on. I told you I am handsome. Only Namtarn recognizes my good looks. What do you know? Huh?"

"It is very comfortable here."

"Oh yes. In the afternoon, the seniors called us, right?" Muay suddenly said, changing the subject of discussion.

"Yes, yes. I heard that the students will be divided into houses and we will be given a mentor," Deer replied to the question.

"Well. yeah, that's fine. But let's be honest, we're lazy," Min commented.

"It's just once, and then the reception party. We don't have any activities after that, you know."

"Uh, yeah."

"What did you say?" Said Namtarn, who sat quietly for a while, in an uncertain tone. The friends who saw him felt he was quite cute and turned to look at Namtarn.

"Our faculty did not have any  brutal seniors, Right?" Namtarn asked.

"Oh Namtarn, you don't have to worry at all. Our faculty doesn't. It can only be called having fun like in the wonderland. You don't have to worry at all about the SOTUS system. There is a certainty that the seniors will not do it. "

Namtarn sighed in relief. Another thing he didn't have to worry about was making friends. His new friends were friendly and helpful. Although his brother Namkang had already confirmed that there was no SOTUS system, he still couldn't help asking his new friends and they seemed to agree with what his brother said. He felt a little less anxious.

"The teacher came." as if bees were entering the hive when the subject teacher entered, they started to sit in their seats in unison. Namtarn saw that and took a notebook and pencil case and got ready to write down the material the teacher was going to teach today. He was very excited about the university's teaching and learning system, which was very different from his high school days. And soon, Namtarn thought that he could adapt to university life because from day one, he started to feel that college life was fun too ...

"Hello, my brothers and sisters. My name is Junior from the third year. How are you doing with the first day of study? If you are not comfortable there are still brothers and sisters who are here to advise the freshmen." After finishing the morning classes, a young man from the business communication met with the freshman in the conference room of the faculty.

"As you know, today we are going to divide the students into houses and give a mentor for the younger ones, as our older ones have done every year. It is going to be used instead of the line of the code system. And everyone will get a mentor later after having successfully entered their houses. For some freshmen, they may not have a second-year student as a mentor. You could have a third or fourth year as a caregiver/mentor instead, either to avoid wasting time. They may extend to your own study houses immediately. " At the end of the second year president's speech, all of the energetic youngsters stood up to prepare to move into their own houses, as the older ones had already come into the room before the opening speech was completed.

The house division system is a grouping system so that all first-year students have the opportunity to make new friends rather than just choosing friends in general. Each house has approximately ten to fifteen members from each department of the faculty.

"The younger brothers of the house 'Micro', they will come this way." Namtarn followed the voice of an older woman who lifted the MICRO house sign and called out to the younger generation. It also meant being recognized as one of the members of the house.

Although it was not a Faculty of Economics, the study of this faculty remained as the focus of the students to acquire the best possible marketing knowledge. Therefore, the names of each house are given according to often heard economic terms, which consist of a MICRO, a MACRO, the IMF(International Monetary Fund), and an RMF(Risk Management Framework), for a total of four.

"Oh, Namtarn is also in Ban Chul (Micro)?"

"Yes, Deer is there too, right?"

"Yes, I'm so happy. I was afraid there would be no familiar face. But with you, I feel relieved." The friend, slightly taller than him named Deer, showed an expression of relief which made the little one feel pretty good.

"Me too".

"Okay, come on. Hello, my name is King. I am in the second year, the head of the house MICRO and the head of the second year. There is no doubt that the fourth year brothers and sisters have disappeared, from both our household and our generation. As for the third-year head of the house, this brother is busy today. So I take on the role of looking after the younger siblings." They all laughed dryly. Everyone could only think about the mystery, how no less than ten people from a year could disappear, and most importantly, they would not be by themselves.

"But don't worry. I certify, by standing here that everyone will help you. Survival is certain until the end of the fourth year."

"The eleven siblings who are here will be your mentors. Some people will have a third or four-year mentor. But before I give you a hint, I want all the younger ones to introduce themselves. But the introduction of our house would not be as common as our neighboring house. I ask you to introduce yourselves and strike a personal pose for the brothers and sisters to remember. Then you will get a hint from the mentor. So let's start with the first person. "

Freshmen introduced themselves with funny gestures and voices, hoping they won't be as same as others and miss out on suggestions from their mentors. And that results in each person playing, uncompromisingly making their friends and seniors laugh. It also included Namtarn who was laughing and exaggerating with his friends until it was his turn.

"Hello, my name is Namtarn. *Namtarn is delicious with anything." The little boy introduced himself in a high, clear tone, followed by a fresh slogan and all the grown-ups applauded at his cuteness. But that was less than the pose of holding a glass of water before picking it up, drinking it, and sighing with joy as if it were an advertisement for a famous soda brand.

*Namtarn means Sugar
*Namkang means Ice

"Oh. I want to taste the Namtarn, to see if it is delicious or not." The little boy scratched his cheek slightly out of shyness when he became the focus. Namtarn was happy that everyone was so well and accepting that the walls Namtarn had built against those around him began to quickly break down.

"It's going to be bad if you don't remember your sibling's name. In conclusion, everyone has passed. Now, I will walk in and give the mentor hints one by one. If someone gets the hint, they can go home. There will be a reception event on Friday. If someone can find their mentor, they will get a reward from the seniors. But if someone can't find it, that's fine. They will find their mentor on the day of the event. "

The screams of the freshman were replaced as each was given a clue to find their mentor. Some of them even had to hold their temples because the clues they had received were too hard for ordinary people to understand or some people laughed out loud because they didn't expect to get that clue.

"Where's your clue Namtarn?" Asked Deer.

"Oh, here it is." The little boy handed him a piece of paper.

"Hmm ... *don't eat candy. That's the clue?"

*clue

"Huh. Will we find it?"

"Don't be afraid. Even if you don't find it, they will answer it for you. It doesn't seem it will be easy to find ours. It's *'Sauteed Shrimp With Basil'. We don't know where to go, haha." The two little people complained about the clues they received until their seniors let them go home.

*clue

"Even if you can't find the clue, you can still go home. See you later," King said. The first-year students from the house of the Micro gradually left the meeting room.

Now every household was beginning to let their younger siblings go home. Only one "Macro" house remained that was still active, of which the three members of the house were close friends of Namtarn and Deer. The two of them sat waiting for their friends in front of the meeting room.

"Wait a minute, little ones." Namtarn and Deer turned to the tone of a man in a neat student uniform. Namtarn's eyes widened when he saw the other's face and he opened his mouth, preparing to resolve the grudge he built up when he was called small in the morning.

"It's Mr. Bitter Coffee. Don't call me little one! I have told you this morning. How can you again call me that?" The word 'little one' that was used when the little boy went to pick up their order, by this tall man who was like a power pole made him angry. The other man smiled and stopped in front of him, but since he did not know his name and did not know who the other person was, he gave the title to the person in front of him as: 'Bitter coffee'.

"Bitter coffee", the tall man raised his eyebrows slightly when called out by a little boy, before the handsome face raised the corner of his mouth.

"Ah, P'Mangkorn, hello." Suddenly, his friend who was not much taller than him interrupted the conversation between Namtarn and the newcomer named *Mangkorn. Mangkorn looked away from the boy, with a growling expression in front of him and looked at the other person he hadn't noticed before greeting.

*Mangkorn means Dragon

"Oh. Deer?" said Mangkorn.

"P'Mangkorn, you remember me? I'm glad."

"Of course I remember you. You were a junior from the same school. How are you? I haven't seen you in a long time."

"I'm fine P'Mangkorn ..."

"Wait Deer, do you know this person too?" The smaller person turned his head to look at the person his friend called P'Mangkorn, before wondering suspiciously. Although he had only known Deer for one day, Namtarn would not allow Deer to be teased. He wouldn't accept it!

"Well, he's our senior."

"And he is also an old brother of our house." What Deer said, it made Namtarn understand better. This person could be the main senior. But even so, Namtarn wouldn't agree. His brother Namkang taught him not to pretend to be frightened or upset.

"Don't call me little one. Namtarn. My name is Namtarn, not a little one. If you call me that again, I won't speak to you." The little one hid behind his friend who was a little higher, hoping he would protect him. The other person saw him, he could not help but laugh.

"My name is Mangkorn. Not Bitter coffee."

"Why did you call me that?" Namtarn just confusedly received the cappuccino. Although he didn't understand it, he accepted it because he thought it was the drink Namkang ordered.

"Well, I apologize for calling you small. However, we are seniors and juniors in the same faculty. Also, we are in the same house, and most importantly ... Nong Namtarn, don't secretly steal adult drinks." After speaking, Mangkorn immediately returned to the meeting room.

Namtarn stood with his mouth open because he was attacked by the same person again. When he found out, he kept complaining to his new friend until Deer didn't understand what problems his new friend had with his senior. But still, he was willing to listen.
