Angelica stared at Sirius.

He stared back at her.

Silence passed.

She held her breath, waiting for what would come next.

"Are you breathing?" he asked, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down her spine.

She nodded, dazed and exhilarated by the sheer intensity of the moment.

Sirius leaned back against the headboard, his nonchalant demeanor contrasting with the palpable tension in the air. "Okay, I'll just wait," he said, his tone light yet tinged with an underlying current of anticipation.

As Angelica struggled to regain her composure, Sirius entertained himself with a medley of odd sounds, each one punctuating the silence like a drumbeat of desire. His playful antics only served to heighten her exhilaration, leaving her feeling both giddy and breathless.

But then, in the blink of an eye, Sirius shattered the silence, "I love you too, by the way. But you already know that."

Angelica's jaw dropped and she was rendered absolutely speechless. Before she could gather her wits, she found herself blurting out a flurry of questions.

"Why didn't you say you were awake? How many nights were you awake? What did you hear? What did I say?" she demanded, her words tumbling out in a torrent of emotion.

He laughed, the sound rich and full of life as he said, "Whoa, slow down there, Angel. One question at a time."

With a sheepish grin, he confessed, "I've been awake every night. I couldn't help but listen when you whispered sweet words to me under the guise of darkness."

Angelica's cheeks flushed with embarrassment, but Sirius waved it off with a playful wink.

"And as for what I heard... let's just say I got an earful of sweet nothings and heartfelt confessions."

Her embarrassment grew as she groaned, "You heard everything!"

"Every word," he confirmed, his grin widening. "And I have to say, I liked what I heard."

"Oh, my Merlin!" Angelica's mind raced with a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, but before she could make sense of it all, she felt the bed shift beneath her.

She looked up to see Sirius leaning in, his eyes locking onto hers with an intensity that stole her breath away.

"Tell me," He pleaded. "Tell me you love me, Angel."

For a moment, she was speechless, her heart pounding in her chest as she met his gaze. And then, with a soft exhale, she whispered the words that had been etched on her heart since the moment she was born

"I love you," she breathed.

But before she could utter another word, her breath was stolen away.

Her oxygen supply was cut off; taken over by something completely different.

She couldn't think and she couldn't breathe because Sirius' mouth was on hers.

As her world spun, her senses were consumed by the overwhelming intensity of Sirius's kiss. Every nerve ending in her body ignited with a fiery passion, her heart pounding in sync with the rhythm of their entwined souls.

Angelica wrapped her arms around Sirius's neck, pulling him closer as if she could never get enough of him. Their bodies molded together seamlessly.

She needed him—his touch, his warmth, his love. It was an instinct, buried deep within her soul. Before she knew how to talk or walk or love or breathe, she loved him with an intensity that defied comprehension.
