"You want more soup or less?"

"Less."

The two boys had eventually stopped resting together, and as it was now lunch hour, were going to eat ramen. Sunoo was in the kitchen preparing the two cups since he insisted, while Sunghoon remained seated on the living room sofa.

The interior design of Sunoo's house very much reflected the personalities of the family that inhabited it: The woman's stylistically satisfying arrangements of furniture, the man's fixatures of plants, and the boy's fresh pallet of colors.

There was such a cheerful vibe about the house, despite it being empty twenty four seven. The reason why Sunghoon and Sunoo were able to get so close anyways was because both of their parents were busy, so it made sense that they spend time together to get rid of the loneliness.

Loneliness wasn't something Sunghoon felt present in the Kim estate, though. There was an obvious difference in his parents and Sunoo's; one pair disregarded their child and the other cared so diligently. The tender love and care Sunoo was given in his childhood raised him to understand his parents and become a little gumdrop of positivity in other peoples lives. Just like he had become in Sunghoon's.

Sunghoon felt himself come back to reality as the tap of cups on a table sounded. Sunoo had sat down next to him, and was now eyeing the two ramen cups like they were the last edible things on the planet.

He snorted. "You're that hungry?"

"I haven't eaten since I woke up, and that's on you, idiot." Sunoo spat sassily, leaning down and blowing on his cup so it would cool down and he could eat it. Sunghoon followed his example.

Ramen wasn't the best "brunch" he could have had, but in all honesty it was something he had been craving since last night. Lately, he had been just following what his heart told him to do, and since his heart said go eat ramen then why not eat some unhealthy sodium high noodles?

The cup, while tasty, had been too small for Sunghoon's appetite. He was still a bit hungry, now staring longingly at Sunoo's unfinished cup that the boy was still eating. Sunoo of course noticed his gaze, leading them to hold eye contact.

The younger's cheeks were stuffed, some strings of noodles peaking out of his mouth. It brought a smile upon Sunghoon's face to see the curious depths Sunoo's eyes held. He was, perhaps, calculating and analyzing why his food was being checked out.

He had probably been staring for too long, however, because Sunoo's cheeks began colorizing in embarrassment.

"Hey, don't look at me like that! I'm trying to eat." He whined, words muffled with the mush in his mouth.

The other obeyed diligently with a dumb smile, directing his own gaze elsewhere while his mind remained on Sunoo.

A few minutes later, Sunoo had put away their cups. It seems that he had planned out that was going to happen from there on out because the next thing  he did was turn the TV on, a movie preloaded.

Sunghoon raised his eyebrow. "Like Stars on Earth?"

"It's really good from what I've heard! Trust me on this, okay."

'I always trust you.'

Sunghoon had opened his mouth to say the words, but they never came out, making him frown. He was disappointed, but not surprised. Once again he couldn't use his words to show his gratitude. There were so, so many things he wanted to describe and vocalize: his thoughts, feelings, questions, concerns. But he couldn't, because his throat would suddenly become dry and all of his perfectly planned out words collapsed like a house of cards.

Sunghoon had managed to open up to Sunoo with most of those listed, but his true feelings stayed in the dark. He couldn't show how grateful and glad he was, how much he cared, worried, loved—and he hated himself for that. To cope with this, Sunghoon had ended up relying on his actions to speak for him.

The boy huffed. Yeah, actions would work for the time being. Being touchy would surely give Sunghoon some sort of solace that his heart was being true.

His eyes trailed away from the TV screen and the movie he had long timed out from, landing on Sunoo's features. He was engrossed in the movie like always, mouth hanging the slightest bit open while the screen lit his eyes up.

'What if I just...'

Sunghoon hesitated a bit, then making up his mind with a determined yet aloof expression as he reached over. His arm slid around Sunoo's side, gently tugging him close.

Thankfully, Sunoo accepted his advance, pushing his body towards Sunghoon's until he was slumped into the latter's side. To Sunghoon's surprise, he began to get himself even more comfortable. His legs had curled up on the couch, head now leaning solely on Sunghoon for support. If Sunghoon were to move more, then Sunoo's head would probably fall to his lap.

The mere thought of this action make Sunghoon's heart do a flip. As if to scare him, Sunoo's hand touched the one he was holding the boy up on. Fingers curled around his, dragging them upwards and eventually reaching a softer surface.

It was only here that Sunghoon finally understood Sunoo's incentive.

A small smile couldn't help but build upon Sunghoon's face at the realization as he ran his fingers through the boy's hair continuously. They had done this only once before, but Sunoo seemed to favor the action very much, judging by how he was attempting to move impossibly closer to Sunghoon. He was very much starting to resemble a kitten with all of his cute charms.

While Sunghoon did find it all very endearing, he couldn't help but think about the heart behind each action. Was this platonic, a 'friends' thing? His mind lingered at what had happened that sort of-morning, when Sunoo had kissed him and quite daringly said it wasn't something he did for his friends. Of course, his morality told him that the boy could have meant that he only did that with his best friends.

But then Sunghoon remembered the boy's rapid heart rate and overall flustered expressions throughout their ordeal.

He wasn't dumb. That morning, the line between friends and more had become blurry to the both of them, and their actions showed so. His brain was only trying to think with facts and completely true or false identities. But feelings were not simply facts that could be true or false; they would be forever changing.

So maybe, just maybe, he had a chance at pursuing his longtime crush.

And so Sunghoon sat there, mindlessly caressing the silky strand of hair that Sunoo so eagerly wanted him to pet with no other newfound care in the world, even the long forgotten movie as a whirlpool of new thoughts and motives travelled through his mind.
