"Elliot I'm ready to go" I nudged him

"Just a second dear, I'm talking" he took a sip from his glass, obviously drunk already

"Please"

I knew he didn't want to go, he was crowded by beautiful women and drunken coworkers who were talking over us.

"Okay fine" he sighed

"What was your problem tonight?" Elliot plopped down on the bed

I drifted off in thought as I hung up our freshly washed clothes.

"Do you know Draco Malfoy?"

"Draco malfoy?" He said to himself

"Lucius Malfoy's son"

"Ah yes, I worked with him a few times I think. Why?"

"He was at the party we took some time to catch up" I sat on the bed next to him

"An old friend?" He asked

"Kinda....We went to Hogwarts together"

"It's a small world after all" he laughed

His laughter sent an electric shock through me, he was enjoying his night out while I had to wonder if he's been sneaking around with other people.

"Are you cheating on me Elliot?" I asked bluntly

"What?"

"I was speaking with Draco and-"

"Is this why you wanted to leave the party early? Did this rich schoolboy say something?" He spat

"No that's not what I was going to say"

"Then go on, please tell me what he had to say...I'm dying to hear" he scoffed

"He just said he knew you...that's all"

I figured now wouldn't be the best time to confront him, he is drunk after all...he might do or say something he regrets.

He drew in a deep breath

"Yes, I worked with him a few years back when some Sussex employees did reports" he sighed

"That's nice" I spoke softly, not sure what else to say to adjust the situation.

He crawled in bed next to me, his arms wrapped gently around me.

"Sleep well darling" I turned off the lamp.

2:30am

I couldn't sleep much, tossing back and forth.

All I could think about was Draco and I's conversation. It'd been ten years...why now? My life was going somewhat-great, I'm about to get married and he shows up out of nowhere....and apparently everyone has known him for years without my acknowledgment.

It just doesn't add up.

It feels like a fever dream....did it even happen?

I gently shut my eyes.

The warmth on my stomach...the subtle touch on my skin. It felt familiar; maybe it's just my thoughts wondering to the late nights, studying in the library by freshly lit fire, the days spent at the Malfoy Manor finally feeling at home, or my wretched heart wanting more than the simple life and perfect husband I thought I wanted.
