"The negotiations seems to be going great," Arya whispered sarcastically as they reached the army and could clearly hear the conversation between Thorin, Thranduíl and Bard. Legolas squeeze her hand gently, reminding her that she had forgotten to pull away from his touch. But she did not shy away from his touch, and when Thorin learned of Bilbo's betrayal she found her clutch on his hand only tightening, her heart thundering in her chest as she watched Thorin getting ready to throw Bilbo over the wall.

            "NO!"

She had not realized that she was the one exclaiming it before Legolas tugged her into his side, turning her around slightly until he could wrap his free arm around her.

"Nobody will let Bilbo get hurt," he whispered softly against the top of her head, and true enough, at that moment Gandalf stepped forwards. She breathed out a sigh of relief as Bilbo's feet touched the ground, and pulled away from Legolas paying no attention to the sigh that left his lips as she turned towards the hobbit that was rushing towards them.

Falling to her knees as he reached them she embraced him heartily before pulling away and placing her hands on his shoulders.

"It is good to see you, master Baggins."

"Arya!" Bilbo laughed, beaming at her even as Thorin, Thranduíl, Bard and now Gandalf quarreled on. "I cannot believe you are alive, even though Legolas assured me he would not let you die." He gave a small nod in the direction of the elven prince as he mentioned it, a grateful smile on his face.

"I am alive and well, Bilbo." She smiled gently back at him "much thanks to you, if I remember correctly." Bilbo beamed back at her, pride seeping into his eyes.

"I apologize for using such harsh words during our last meeting master hobbit," Legolas spoke quietly from behind her, making them both turn to look at him, Arya with a questioning look on her face.

"I... Eh... I might have threatened him just a little." Legolas admitted, a blush rising to his cheeks.

"Legolas!" She exclaimed, her eyes widening. But when she saw the smile on Bilbo's face she couldn't help but let a chuckle fall from her lips. Legolas smiled at her then, seeing as she did not seem to be upset with him.

"Don't be upset with him, Arya. He was only worried about you." Bilbo smiled at the both of them but at the laugh of Thorin they trio looked towards the wall again, their eyes widening at the calculating look on his face.

Bard stepped forwards then, his eyes fastened onto the defiant dwarf, "will you have peace, or war?"

            "I will have war!"

The elves and men readied themselves, their bows strung and aimed at the dwarves. Arya stepped forwards, her arms raised but her voice silent.

She did not know what to do to stop this.

Legolas stepped up next to her, his hand resting on her shoulder in comfort. He had no words to console her, but she realized she did not need any as long as he was there. Hesitantly she lifted his hand off her shoulder, and before he could pull away from her she laced her fingers through his, giving his hand an appreciative squeeze.

He looked down at their entwined fingers in surprise before his eyes met hers, the gentle smile on his face morphing into a grin as she kept their hands entwined.
