My phone buzzed insistently from where it sat on the counter and I groaned realising sooner or later I would have to move from my perch on the couch to answer whoever had decided to bother me on my sick day off.

“Hello?” I couldn’t help but let a little irritation slip into my voice as I waited for the person on the opposite end to respond. There was a series of beeps before I finally heard a voice

“Hey Kid, I’m gonna need you to come to the tower. Like now” There was an alarm ringing in the background and I groaned again

“Mr. Stark, I can’t today I’m sick” I complained sniffling a little and producing a small cough as evidence. I heard him chuckle

“Frankly I’m a little hurt you didn’t tell me. Also you can be sick here” The alarm was accompanied by panicked whispers and I was a little curious as to why he needed me. But I felt I had been hit in the head with a dishwasher so the last thing I wanted to do was walk five blocks

“But, Mr -”

“See you in 20minutes Peter” The call ended abruptly and I swallowed back my anger at his disrespect, pulling on a very, VERY warm hoodie before trudging out of my apartment building and beginning my walk towards SI. I was in a sour mood the entire walk so it took longer than expected, Mr. Stark was waiting for me at the entrance, arms crossed

“What took you so long? God, Pete you look terrible” I answered with a glare, and if looks could kill, Tony would be six feet under. He raised his hands as if surrendering before leading me inside careful to stay two feet away at all times. As he led me through the main lobby I noticed the side glances of concern he thought went unnoticed and some of my anger slipped away. At least he cares.

The alarm kept blaring, attacking my overhyped senses; I groaned a little in pain

“Are you going to tell me why the alarm is splitting my brain in half? or just keep ignoring me?” Tony jumped a little as we entered the elevator. The inside seemed normal enough and he turned to me ready to explain. He tried to mask the worry in his eyes but I knew him too well.

“There was a minor explosion in one of the intern level labs. The access doors are jammed and blocked from the otherside so no one can get in” I Coughed and he stopped mid sentence, I Knew he was contemplating whether or not to send me home and order me to bed rest, but hearing about the problem at hand I wouldn’t be able to not help.

"What do you need me to do?" I urged him to continue

"Uh, I - Are you sure?" I nodded in confirmation as the elevator came to a stop and we started down the intern level hallway

"Ok, we need Spider-Man to crawl through the vents and move the debris on the other side. The cameras are out so FRIDAY's completely blind in this. Just, be careful kid" I nodded and ran off to a private area to pull on my suit.

"Um, Mr Stark *cough* why couldn't Clint do this? He *cough* loves the vents" I could hear Clint in the background of my comm screaming "I Volunteered!"

"Shut Up, Katniss! Anyway, Clint doesn't have super strength. Or great people skills either" I hummed in agreement to Tony's insult because frankly, It's hilarious when Clint sulks. I coughed due to the dust inhalation as I struggled to see the correct path through the vents. Finally after many arguments between Clint and whoever thought they knew where to go, I was leaping into the intern lab

"Pe- ter….d….see" My comms were breaking up bigtime before I pulled them out frustrated, knowing I was now on my own I surveyed the area

It was a literal disaster. Tables were flipped, their contents sprayed across the blackened floor. Numerous miniature fires dotted the room, sure to rage into one big one if left unattended. Amongst the wreckage I managed to spy the door, the door which was completely free of rubble.
