(Second person pov)
You've had the ability to see and hear spirits and paranormal entities for as long as you could remember. You were used to witnessing them and ignoring them, along with keeping your mouth shut about seeing said entities since no one other than your parents believed you.
You'd be called 'crazy' by everyone you would tell, so you wouldn't tell anyone. That was until you moved to a new town with your family, thus moving to a new school.
At first, nothing was out of the ordinary. Just regular people at school doing their own thing and moving from class to class. But you started to notice this one boy.
He had blonde hair, that appeared to be bleached, pale-ish skin, and wore a grey jacket with jeans and green converse-styled shoes. He himself looked like any other teenager at school, but what made him stick out to you was the fact that he constantly had someone following and floating around him. You obviously recognized what the person following him was, it was a spirit since they could float and hover over the ground.
You didn't have the same classes as the blonde kid, but you did have the same lunchtime as him. So you would often sit at a table near the one he and his little spirit sat at and observe the two of them. From this, you found out that the boy could see and interact with the spirit that followed him, but no one else could. Other than you of course.
However, what you failed to notice though, was that the spirit that followed the boy around would catch you staring at both of them.
Meanwhile,
(No one's pov)
"Jonathan." Sock said to the blonde sitting next to him, who in turn just ignored him and continued eating his lunch. "Jonathan." Sock repeated, a bit louder. "What?" Jonathan asked, annoyances clearly in his voice. "I think that person over there can see me." the demon replied, a bit curious about how someone other than Jon can see him.
Jonathan glanced and looked in the direction that Sock was looking, seeing a (h/c) haired person looking over at him but then looking away once they realized they got caught staring.
"No, Sock. They're looking at me. No one else other than me can see you. You told me that." Jonathan said. Knowing the fact that only he could see the redhead. "No, no, they look at me too! I've seen them looking straight at me." Sock corrected. "See look! They're looking at me right now." the small demon said nudging for the boy to look at the person again.
He did as told, just to make Sock leave him alone. But once he did, he could actually see that the said person was actually looking directly at Sock. This made him raise his eyebrows a bit in shock. This kid was actually looking at Sock rather than looking through him.
Jon let out a small hum upon discovering this. This has... never happened before.
Without thinking, Jonathan grabbed his stuff and moved from the table he was currently sitting at and walked over and sat at the table that the person was sitting at. Seating himself right next to them.
"Um, hello." the person stammered out, a bit nervous that the person that they had been observing for the past few weeks had got up and sat next to them.
Jonathan was about to say hello back and introduce himself but was interrupted by Sock.
"Hi! Hello! I'm Sock! And this is Jonathan! Can you see me?" the demon chirped happily while getting close to the person.
"Hello, I'm (Y/n). Nice to meet you. And yes I can?" (Y/n) replied trying to answer and respond to Sock properly.
Before the red-haired boy could begin to speak again Jonathan nudged him away and spoke for himself. "Hey there. Sorry about him, he's just like that." Jonathan apologized, "So, you can see the demon that follows bugs me all the time?" Jonathan asks.
(Y/n) nods, "Yeah, I can see him. I can see all types of paranormal entities.". "Although, I've seen demons before, yours doesn't look too much like a demon at all." (Y/n) giggles. Jonathan chuckles back "Yeah he doesn't. Sucks at his job too.".
Sock whined that he doesn't actually suck at it but he gets ignored by both (Y/n) and Jonathan.
Jonathan and (Y/n) then start to make nice conversation and even crack a few jokes with each other, with Sock occasionally trying to bud in but ultimately getting ignored by the two.
(Y/n) thought Jonathan was cool and fun, and secretly found him very attractive. They enjoyed hearing him talk about things, just in general. He wasn't very chatty but he still had his way with words.
Sadly though, time went by and the bell rang to signal the end of lunch and that the students had to head to their next class. Since they didn't have any of the same classes, Jon and (Y/n) had to part ways but agreed to sit and talk again the next day.
Just before (Y/n) was able to leave the cafeteria they heard Sock calls out to them.
"Hey (Y/n)! (Y/n)!" Sock said quickly floating up to them, this time without Jonathan by his side. You let out a small hum to ask what he wanted. The demon placed his hand next to (Y/n)'s ear and whispered "Jonathan's phone number is xxx-xxxx-xxxx.".
"Why did you tell me that?" (Y/n) asked looking over at the boy confused. "Cause I think he likes you." Sock said, sounding all giddy. "He's normally all grumpy and stone-faced but he wasn't like that when he talked to you." Sock mentioned. You nodded your head in understanding, before remembering that you need to head to class. You said your goodbyes to Sock and thanked him for the information he gave you before heading off.
Later that night after you got done with your homework, you texted the number that Sock told you was Jonathan's.
