Black Rose.

It was a bright day at camp, and Y/n had just crawled out of bed.

She had stayed up partying with her cabinmates last night, and the party had gone on forever. It had been wild and out of control, and today Y/n had a splitting headache.

Bravo! What a way to start the day!

She staggered towards the bathroom and had a warm shower. The shower helped, easing her headache slightly, and made her more aware of her surroundings. She then exited the bathroom wearing some comfy clothes.

Outside the bathroom the cabin was a mess. Plastic cups and wrappers littered the room. Most of her siblings had only just made it to bed before they collapsed, and some of them had collapsed on the couches and the chairs.

One of them had even collapsed on the floor!

Y/n walked out of the cabin carefully, not bothering to even approach the mess, and out into the broad daylight.

Percy sprinted past and yelled out a hello, Y/n grinned and shouted back.

She walked down to the Hades cabin and knocked on the door, she wanted to talk to her best friend Nico, (who co-incidentally was also her crush) about her headache. He was a surprising master at dealing with stuff like this.

She heard a faint, 'come in' from the cabin and pushed open the door, revealing the vampire grade interiors and coffin beds.

Nico was sitting on one of the horror themed sofas and reading a book, he looked up at the sound of the door opening and smiled seeing Y/n's face.

"What's up?" He asked

"Nothing much really. Except that I have a deadly headache and was hoping you could help me?" She replied.

Nico shook his head with a smirk on his face. This was so typical of Y/n. Suddenly he had a plan.

"I'll help you," he said. "But only on one condition. You have to help me tell this girl I like, how I feel."

Y/n frowned, registering what Nico said. But whatever. Headache first, and depressing stuff later.

"Okay..." She said, hesitantly. "I'll help you but, you help me first."

"Deal!" Nico motioned for her to come sit at his feet and she obliged, Nico sunk his hands into her feather-soft hair and massaged her head. Y/n sighed in relief. Her thoughts becoming clearer.

"So who's the girl?" She asked.

"I can't tell you that," Nico replied. "I just need you to help me confess to her. What do I do? What would a girl like?"

Y/n was hurt, but she didn't show it. It wasn't a problem if Nico didn't like HER. He was also human (to an extent) and she couldn't control who he liked and who he didn't. So, she took a deep breath.

"Well, if it was me, I would like it if you told me to my face, and weren't shy about it. And a black rose or any sort of rose or flower or chocolates wouldn't hurt. In fact it would help your case, and show that you are serious and that the confession isn't a joke."

"Really? It's that simple? Woah!" Nico was surprised.

Y/n shrugged.

"Can you excuse me for a minute?" Nico asked.

"Sure."

Nico got up from the sofa carefully retracting his hands from Y/n's hair and turned.

"Wait here," he said. "I'll need to tell you if it works." He disappeared out the door.

Y/n was sadder than ever. Any hope that the girl Nico liked was her, was destroyed.

Nico returned a few minutes later with a beautiful black rose in one hand a bar of Godiva chocolate in his other.

"Will these do?" He asked.

Sadly, Y/n shook her head, now more than jealous of Nico's secret love she looked down.

Nico sighed in relief.

"Here goes nothing," he said.

"Y/n," he started sweetly. She looked up.

"Yes?" She asked.

"I've liked you for sometime now, and I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me? As more than a friend of course?" Nico asked. He was definitely nervous but remembering what Y/n had said, he didn't show it
Y/n's head shot up, eyes wide. She was shocked at what she just heard.

"Are you serious?" She asked bewildered.

"I thought you said the chocolate and flowers would say that for me!" Nico whined. His mood changing.
Y/n laughed.

"In that case, YES!" She exclaimed. Nico grinned from ear to ear and surged forward to hug her.
The two of them laughed together, and shared the chocolate bar.

That evening, when Y/n went back to her cabin, she pressed the black rose into her favourite book preserving it.

Heyyyy! Sorry about the ending. I was really unsure on how to end it. Many apologies!
