all because of a muffin

I thought we were friends.

I spoke one minor thing about muffins
And I get called absolutely barbaric
And a menace to society
So the world is better off without me?

Is it, truly?

I commit self-depreciation
And instead of appreciation
You appear to agree
That no living person likes me.

Including you yourself, maybe?

Who knew a single sentence
Could reveal so much
So I never had friends
Nobody considered me such.

Then what were we?

All because of a preference
Of baked goods and confections
The tides turned against me fast
I'm once again an outcast.

Why don't things ever last.

Just one minor opinion
And I am looked at like a disgrace
I then get my heart broken
But I'm used to it, it's okay.

And they wonder why I'm silent.

Perhaps my mind did not think right
But nothing about me is
So I shall leave, farewell, goodbye
I know I won't be missed.
