Chapter 1

(Marcus POV)

On my way to third period, I see my best friend Kayla at her locker. I knew Kayla since we were in diapers. Her mom and my mom have been friends forever. Me and Kayla have that type of friendship that is hard to break. I mean yea we have are ups and downs but she will always be my day one.

Marcus: I walk over to her and put my hand over her eyes.

Kayla : ¨I swear if you don't get your hands from over my eyes Deandre. Ima start swinging.¨

Marcus: ¨Chill shawty it's just me.¨

Kayla: Turns around to face Marcus. ¨You know i hate when people do that.¨

Marcus: ¨Oh shut your mouth and lets go to class before Principal Taylor starts fussing.¨

Kayla: ¨Don't rush me.¨ Gives him the stank face and grabs your book from out your locker.

Marcus: ¨Dont give me that look now hurry up.¨

They run to their class before the bell rings

Mr. Williams: ¨Ms. Williams and Mr. Thompson you two were almost late for class."

Marucs: ¨Yea yea whatever. Start teaching, please and thank you¨

30 mins later

Lunch bell starts to ring

Everyone started to run out the classroom

Kayla: Yelling ¨Best friend save me a seat at the table.¨

Marcus: ¨I got you shawty.¨

Christian: sits in front of Marcus. ¨Wassup son.¨

Marcus:¨Wassup what you doing after school?¨

Christian: There's a party at my cousin house. She said i could invite some friends there. So I'm inviting You, Jasmyn, Kayla, and some people from my class.¨

Kayla: walks over to the table with Jasmyn and sits beside Marcus . ¨Hey Fat head, hey best friend. What ya'll talking about?¨

Marcus: ¨Some party Chris cousin is having and he said we can come. I can drive you home and while you changing and i can drive home and change and then come pick you up.¨

Christian: ¨Jasmyn you should come too.¨

Jasmyn: I might. I have to ask my mom. Ya'll know how she is.

Bell rings

Skips to the end of the day

Marcus: walks to Kayla's locker. ¨You ready to go?¨

Kayla: ¨Yea lets go.¨
