Chapter One

**Janet's P.O.V**

I was awokened at 7 a.m. like I always was. Riley has poked me like roadkill again. Damn she could be annoying at times but I loved her. As usual Roger was gone, If I could change anything it would be marrying that asshole. For all I was concerned I was single. I planned on asking for a divorce the next time he's home.

"Tan i have the dino nuggies?" Riley asked as I was getting up

"No Riley" i reply as I slip on my slippers and stand up

"PWWWWEEEAASSSEEE" Riley begged for the dinosaur nuggets like she did every day

"No Riley Dino Nuggies aren't a breakfast food, you can have Bacon and Eggs

"OTAY!" Riley replied as she rushed out of my room and into the kitchen

She loved it when I offered her something other than cereal, which was surprising since most kids loved cereal. I shrugged it off and walked into the kitchen, Riley was already sitting at the Island waiting patiently for her breakfast

"I was thinking I could take you to the park today to make new friends, what do you think?" I tell Riley as I turn on my stove and grab a frying pan

"OTAY! I WUV MAKING NEW FWENS!" Riley replied excitingly.

I sigh and crack an egg into the pan with two straps of bacon, this was going to be a long day.

After the food was done I put it on a plate and gave it to Riley along with a glass of Milk and a biscuit. I then fix me the same breakfast except with a glass of Wine and sit next to her.

"Are you excited to go to the park today?" I ask

"Yea! I can't wait! I hope I make new fwens!" She replied as she took a bite of her sunny-side up egg

How does she eat those? I prefer scrambled eggs than those uncooked abominations. After I had finished my breakfast I went to grab Riley's plate

"Are you done?" I asked

"Yea! Fanks mum!" She replies

I nod and grab her plate, I take it to the sink but before I could turn on the water I hear a loud thump, I put the dishes in the sink and turn around to see what it was. Riley had fell off of her seat at the island! I quickly run over and pick her up

"Riley are you okay?? Are you hurt??" I ask as I begin to check her out to see if she got hurt

"I'm otay mum! I just fewl! Tan I watch fwozen?" Asks Riley

"Riley as much as I hate to say this yes you can watch frozen" i reply, only letting her watch frozen because she fell

"OTAY!" she said excitingly

I cary her to the couch and lay her down, I notice a pack of Roger's cigarettes on the table. I sigh and grab them 'why does he leave these out to where Riley could get them?' I thought as I also grabbed his Lighter. I then went to the large flat-screen tv and turned it on, I put in Riley's Frozen DVD and hand her her frozen blanket. I walk back into the kitchen and finish up the dishes. I go back upstairs and get dressed, I then grab my phone and head onto the balcony.

I check the time, it was now 11:06 a.m.. I sigh and remeber the cigarettes in my pocket " No Janet you have wine. You don't need to start smoking too" i say to myself but after I while I give into the temptation. I grab the cigarettes and open them. I read the brand "Marlboro Ice" I say out loud. I grab one and put it in my mouth, I then light it and take a couple puffs before I am ready to inhale. The next puff I take i inhale. I begin to cough. 'This stuff isn't so bad I thought to myself as I continued to smoke the cigarette. I grab my phone and notice a text from Ma and a text from Marie

Marie: hay sis, whats up? 😘

Janet: what do you want Marie? 🙄

Marie: Can I come by tomorrow? 🥰

Janet: i don't know I'll let you know later ok?

Marie: okay. Love ya! 😍

Janet: bye 😑

Ma: hey, how are you? How's my little Ravioli?

Janet: Hey Ma, I'm fine. Riley's fine too, just annoying me with Frozen and waking me up early

Ma: its good to get up early

Janet: mhm whatever. I gotta go

Ma: okay. Text me later, love ya!

Janet: ok, love you too Ma

After I had finished texting Marie and Ma I realized I had smoked a whole cigarette. I decided to light another. After I light my second cigarette I put the back in my pocket along with the lighter. I begin to zone out. I am awoken from my zone out by hearing "mum?" Being called. I spin around to see Riley

"Are you Otay mum you've been staring into the fowest for 2 hours now" Riley asks

"Yea I'm fine Honey. Did you finish your movie?" I asked. I loved Riley to bits

"Yes I did mum! Tank you for letting me watch it again!" She replied happily

"Of course Honey" I check my phone and its already 1:23 p.m.

"Are you ready to go to the park?" I asked Riley

"Yea!" She replies

"Ok, go get dressed and then we'll head out ok?"

"OTAY!" Riley quickly rushes back inside and into her room

I go back inside and open up a bottle of wine. I pour a glass full of it and then put a cork into it and sit it on my dresser. I began to sip my wine as I waited for Riley to get ready,

'This is gonna be a long day' I thought to myself as I took another sip of my wine
