Instantaneous, Iodine. Away from
lacklustre black, from dull fool's obsidian
in a plain, white lab into purple
kryptonite - toxic yet alluring.
Essence of poppy tousled in the jar,
your subliminal scent. Sharp, strong,
obfuscates my senses, like pretty purple
under Dionysus' grapevine, which ensnares my
every fiber like a python, not a shred of
resistance from my willing body, heart drowned
in the poison, the aphrodisiac, paying
no heed to its corrosion -
zenith of emotion, like lucent purple
krypton that lulls and oozes with vivacious enchantment.
Notes:
1. Iodine (53) is a halogen that sublimes (turns from solid to gas) upon heating and turns from a black solid to a rich purple gas
2. Poppy here refers to the purple flower also used to make opium
3. Krypton (36) is a noble gas that is luminescent
