*Yume's POV*
I've been on the lookout for Itachi for a few days now that I've started to lose my mind. I kept encountering Zetsu and units which are definitely aren't Itachi at all.
Fortunately, I sensed something familiar. It was hiss chakra nearby. Without hesitation, I rushed to Itachi and when I found him, he didn't bother to look back to me but kept on jumping between trees
"Itachi!" I called out before his pace slowed down a little which allowed me to catch up to him
"Forgive me, Yume, but I can't talk with you. I have other things I need to deal with"
"There you go jumping into conclusions, I'm not here to talk!"
"Then why are you here? Shouldn't you be fighting with the rest of the shinobi?"
"Why are you trying to push me so desperately? Is it because you feel guilty about everything that has happened to me and Sasuke?" I asked bluntly but Itachi just picked up his pace. I sighed and looked down, "Seems I was right.."
"Are you here to lecture me? If so, you should be fighting to win this war instead of wasting your time here"
"If we lose or win this war, it doesn't matter to me"
"Wait! Is that you, Itachi?!" Sasuke's voice shouted from behind, however Itachi just picked up the pace and ignored Sasuke completely
"I said... Wait!" He yelled then brought out his Susano'o and tried to grab Itachi. I was in the middle so I brought out my own Susano'o and pushed their hands away
"This Susano'o...So you are Itachi!" Sasuke yelled
"I'm surprised that you were able to master it too" Itachi said
"What are you doing here?! You're supposed to be dead!" Sasuke stated
"I think you are mad that he's alive" I said "But he isn't alive. This is a jutsu that brings the dead back to the world of living"
"This is Kabuto's jutsu...I'm a reanimation right now. I can't stop now. There is something I have to do" Itachi said
"I don't care! You're here before me and I have a lot of questions!" Sasuke yelled
"I swear on Itachi, if you don't pick up that attitude of yours, I'll do it myself!" I yelled back at Sasuke
"Ask me later...but I guess that's not going to happen" Itachi said calmly and blankly
"You said it yourself! To come find you when I have the same eyes as you! So why are you running? To avoid admitting that you lied to me?! Or do you not have the courage to tell the truth?! I already know...everything about you! That's why I've decided to destroy Konoha!" Sasuke said
"I told you before when we fought...that people live under false assumptions...I asked you if you can think about it that way. And how one's reality might be an illusion"
"I no longer live inside an illusion! You said that only Yume was able to see through your illusions! And I can see right through your genjutsu! These are our father's eyes!" Sasuke yelled which completely took me by surprise. Those are whose eyes?!
"I've heard about you from others, that you've changed a lot, Sasuke.." Itachi said
"No, you changed everything about me! Yume and I were supposed to die! You were supposed to kill us along with our parents. But...Why did you spare us?!?!" Sasuke yelled
"Why did you spare us?! How were we different from mother and father? Why just us?" Sasuke asked
"Because you didn't know anything. You had no part in the Uchiha clan's folly. You were just children. I wanted to be judged and dealt with only by another Uchiha. But Yume never hated me. So I took advantage of the hatred in you Sasuke. That's why I failed. Ultimately, I filled you with hatred and made you go rogue and turned you into a criminal" Itachi explained with a tone of regret taking over his voice
