Wait.

So Breuanna’s lying?

I lay back in the wheelchair looking at Christina pace back and forth around her room frantically.

“Wait, I don’t understand.”

“What don’t you understand?!” She snapped. “I think I was pretty clear, that child, is not Breuanna’s child. Breuanna’s actually supposed to be in a mental hospital. How did she get out?”

I didn’t know what to say.

I looked at Christina as she walked over to the phone and began dialing some numbers.

“I’ll get back to you in like ten minutes okay?” She said as she looked at me.

“Uh, alright.” I said as I began rolling towards the door.

I turned back to see Christina sitting on the ground, dialing numbers over and over.

What is really going on?

I opened the door and rolled out my room just in time to see Jasleen walking towards the door.

“There you are.” She said looking at me.

She had Charmaine on her shoulder, and she was smiling.

“She’s the cutest little thing ever.” Jasleen smiled, “Almost makes me want to have a baby.”

“They’re cute till you actually have to take care of them.” I chuckled.

“I’m sure she isn’t a handful.”

“She isn’t actually.”

“I knew Char couldn’t be any trouble.” Jasleen said as she gently bounced Charmaine.

I couldn’t help but smile at the two of them.

Jasleen’s so good with her.

“So,” Jasleen said not breaking her focus off of Charmaine, “Found anything out about this whole situation.”

“Kinda, but I need to find out more. Christina said she’d get back to me soon.”

“Is it serious?”

“They’re being framed for kidnapping! It’s pretty serious.”

“Well, if there’s anything you need me to do.”

“You’d help me out?”

“Of course.” She smiled as her cheeks flushed red.

::Half an hour later::

Christina told me she’d check back with me ten minutes ago.

It’s been a lot longer than ten minutes.

“You want me to go check on her?” Jasleen asked.

“Nah, let’s give her like five more minutes, then I’ll roll over there.”

“You don’t have to, I’m here.” Christina said as she walked through the door.
“Well?”

“Well?” she said.

“Any information you want to share?”

“Well your girlfriend needs to leave.”

“Excuse me.” She said, “I work here, you can’t tell me to leave.”
