Cleo

I was generous enough to help Vinnie move into his house on Saturday.

I originally planned on staying in all day and reading a good book, listening to music or painting but he asked so nicely, I couldn't resist...

That's a lie he kind of just told me that I'll be helping him so I so kindly agreed, as if I had any other choice.

By the time everything was all settled and done, it was 6pm and I was hungry.

I was going to just go home but Vinnie decided to reimburse me for my time, by paying me in a nice McDonald's meal. I wanted Wendy's but apparently it closes early in our part of LA so I was highly disappointed as I sat in the passengers seat of Vinnie's car.

The car was silent for the most part as we ate and listened to the music that played on the radio.

It was a rainy evening, something I loved a lot, and reminded me of home.

On days like these I missed New York the most. I have to go back soon.

"What's going on in that pretty little head of yours?" He asked, breaking the silence. I looked up at him from my glasses, placing the chicken nugget I once had in my hand, into my mouth. "Mm? Oh nothing." I say, shaking it off.

"You should know, that by now I know when you're lying to me so you should probably just tell me." He pushed.

I let out a sigh before speaking:

"I don't know. I just miss New York. After all the drama from last week I think I just realized that it's only going to get worse from here."

"Yeah, I get that. I don't know but ever since I moved to LA, I've just been getting this attention that never happened when I was in Seattle. I mean, I did live in a more secluded part, but people still knew me. But it's nothing like now... people all over the world follow me. They either hate on me or like... I never know anymore." He rambled.

But I completely understood him.

Tiktok is one of the easiest apps to get a following on. Being funny, good looking or just being a complete laughing stock could get you followers the app.

And just from being any of those things people think they can rule your life just by what they see on their little phone screens, not realizing that one, that's not how it works and two, there's more to being this "content creator".

"And it's crazy because we haven't even been faced with some real shit yet that we'll have to address." I joke.

"Please I have my notes app already open." He laughs along with me.

We both just sat there for a minute laughing before we died down, our smiles still on our faces.

" You have a beautiful smile. You never smile in your photos on Instagram but I like that. I think of it as something only special people get to see... one of them being met." He says, a bit more serious.

Our gaze stood on each other and in that moment I felt connected with him.

I don't know, but it's something about staying out with someone and just talking for hours on end getting to know them on a deeper level.

"I like that you think of it that way... but I don't know, I never really smile anymore unless it's with other people... you being the main one though." I admit. It was true.

He was someone I found myself always smiling around or laughing with...

It felt nice to have this with someone and have it be so private. I didn't want the whole world to be able to see this because it would do nothing but ruin us...
