3rd Person POV

"Percy, a break would help" Artemis wheezed, hands on knees. Rehabilitation was a tough job, especially for someone who had broken their spine and shattered their hips not a month ago. She was still supposed to be on bed rest but courtesy of Apollo, Hestia, and Percy, she was able to get out of bed the very next day she regained consciousness. The healing powers of the 3 combined had healed her quite a bit but her body was not able to handle such a fast healing process. If she was a mortal, the effects would have been quite disastrous, but fortunately for her, she was an immortal. So the side-effects of superfast healing for her were sudden and painful muscle cramps, ghost pains on her wounds, nausea, etc.

Once or twice, she had fainted too. But Percy had been keeping a vigil on her, leaving her alone only when she had to use the toilet. So he had caught her before she hit her head. All 3 healers had pleaded with her to rest at least one more week but being the hard-headed goddess she was, nothing could make her change her mind. She was possessed by a bloodlust even greater than Percy. She was adamant to bring the Giants' heads back as trophy and naturally, Percy supported her

But managing the united campers' training, along with their frequent fights, and now Artemis's rehabilitation was something impossible. So he did the next best thing. Even though he had to endure a full 10 hour Council meeting just to get their permission, Percy managed to convince everybody that it would be best if Artemis and he stayed at camp for the time being, while the Hunt was still in Hestia's palace, until Artemis's rehabilitation ended at least. This way, he would be able to look after both Artemis and the campers. This also worked in his favor since he now had a goddess to back him when the conflicts became too catastrophic. And right now, at 10 in the morning, while the campers were participating in a mass drill, Percy and Artemis were on a rehabilitation walk.

"Oh my gods sorry, Missy. I was so absorbed in my thoughts that I missed our stopping point" Percy hastily apologized as he rushed to her side as she had been left behind a few steps. Percy wrapped an arm around her waist and gently set her down on a big rock, himself sitting beside her. Once Artemis had regained her breath, Percy summoned water for them to drink. Artemis slowly eased into his hold as she sighed deeply. "I feel so useless Percy. I could manage to run for a week without getting tired. I can't even run a mile now" she said dejectedly. Percy though was unfazed by this. He was the rock that she was using to climb back into her life, he was the one who supported her through the PTSD both were going through so naturally, he couldn't crumble.

"Stop this nonsense, Missy. This is temporary. We have promised ourselves to get the blood of the Giants. This is the work in progress. In no time will I be able to see the goddess you are instead of being in this state" Percy encouraged her. Artemis pulled out of his embrace and looked at him with love-filled silver eyes. Leaning in she gave him a kiss filled with adoration. Percy was literally the definition of an ideal person, male or female. Truth to be told, Artemis strived to be like him, flawless was the only word that could describe him. Percy on his part felt really happy at being able to help her. He didn't even want to think of the dark days they had gone through and certainly not the nights either had woken up screaming.

After a 10 minute break, they entangled themselves from each other and got up. Artemis grimaced as pain shot up from her groin. The Giants had been pretty brutal in their torture, and having her hip almost completely shattered didn't help either. The pain in her crotch was one of the primary reasons she still wasn't able to run yet. The other being fatigue. The truth was she wasn't even able to walk properly. Her hip joint was brittle and the things they did to her left her walking with a limp. Percy, when he found out, was shaking with rage. Artemis had to calm him down, promising to put the Giants through the same pain, and only then did he manage to not destroy a whole section of the camp.
