His partner pokemon is actually a cosplay pikachu. He found her as a pichu when he was a child and they quickly became the best of friends and were inseparable from each other. Birch caught her for his son and she became his partner when he became 10. She is like Ash's pikachu where she hates her pokeball and stays on Y/n's shoulder most of the time. She hates people who insult her, Y/n or anyone else she likes and is nervous towards people she doesn't know.She also has the move Meteor mash and the ability lightning rod.

When he found her she wasn't in cosplay but after watching contests on TV she wanted to participate in them with Y/n and that was when he decided that he would do gym battles and contest at the same time(so he will basically be like Nando from pokemon diamond and pearl where he will do both contests and gym battles)Y/n also made the costume for pikachu and she really likes it.Y/n's mom made a contest costume for him to match with his partner pikachu.
