Lilac's POV:

I opened my eyes.

My head...it hurts.

I groaned as I reached out to touch my head.

It stung.

I hissed in pain and retracted my hand.

My eyes felt strained.

The lights around me were so bright.

I heard a commotion around me.

"She's awake! Call the nurse!" I heard someone say.

"Lilac, are you alright? You've finally woken up..."

I strained my eyes to see who was talking to me.

The voice was familiar.

"Mum?"

I saw my mother sitting on the bed beside me.

"I was so worried..."

She held my hands as tears ran down her face.

What happened next felt like a blur to me.

My body felt numb.

What kind of dream is this?

The doctor checked my condition and told my mother that I was allowed to go home.

"We can go home now, Lilac! Let's get you back." I heard her say.

After some time, I was in her car and we were on the way back to my house.

When we reached, my mother walked with me to my room and helped me onto my bed.

"I want to sleep..." I muttered.

Fatigue washed over me as I closed my eyes.

"Alright. Go to sleep, Lilac."

*********

I opened my eyes and realised that it was morning already.

I stretched my limbs and let out a yawn.

What a strange dream...

I guess I miss Mum.

I should call her.

After I was finished brushing my teeth and washing my face, I grabbed my phone and dialled my mother's number.

After a few seconds, I heard my mother's voice.

"Lilac? Hey dear, why did you call?"

I smiled.

I did miss her voice.

"Hey, Mum. Nothing much, I just miss you. How are you doing?" I replied.

"Aw, Lilac. I miss you too. I'm doing great."

My mother continued, "Your father and I have been watching shows together at home after work. We miss you so much..."

My heart sank and my face turned pale.

"Wait...can you repeat that?" I asked.

My eyes had widened as if I had seen a ghost.

She repeated what she had said and I knew I didn't hear it wrongly.

Dad?

She has been watching shows...with Dad?

What...

"Mum...are you okay?" I asked slowly.

"Huh? Why wouldn't I be?"

I could hear the confusion in my mother's voice.
