Lilac's POV:

My heart felt empty as tears ran down my face.

I quickly grabbed my phone from my table and went into my contacts application.

Please be real...

Please...

I went to the search bar and typed in the letters quickly.

I froze, my hand shaking slightly.

No...

It can't be...

"It can't be!" I cried out.

I typed in the name again and again, but no such contact existed.

But I remember everything...

His name was Darius.

He had blue eyes.

We shared our first kiss under the moonlight.

He smelt like tulips.

Somehow, he always took the pain away.

His favourite drink was earl grey tea.

He comforted me on rainy days.

He showed me a garden of fireflies.

He loved me.

The last word he said was "yours".

I remember it now, but it was all just a dream.

"Why? Why did it all have to be a dream? It felt so real." I muttered to myself.

How could a dream feel that real?

The touch, the smell, the noises.

I felt them all.

I wiped my tears away and looked at the date on my phone.

School break was over and today was the first day of a new semester.

I have to go to school.

I shook my head, trying to clear my mind.

It's just a dream.

Get over it.

I ran my fingers through my hair, realising how tangled it was.

I have to get myself together.

I can't go to school with puffy eyes and messy hair like this.

I grudgingly got out of bed and went into the bathroom.

I brushed my teeth and then washed my face with cold water, trying to de-puff my eyes.

I was surprised when I scanned my face in the mirror.

My skin had looked clearer and brighter.

Was it because I had a good sleep?

After I was done, I changed into an oversized white t-shirt and a pair of black shorts.

I tied my hair into two braids, leaving a few pieces of hair untied to frame my face.

As time went by, I felt myself slowly forgetting about my dream.

When I finished tying my hair, I looked at myself in the mirror.

I felt a sense of deja vu.

Have I worn this outfit before?
